edit: just saw you were inquiring specifically about focus pads. honestly, the frequency curve differences won't be too different. if you look at tyll's measurement's of the effect different pads have on the oppo pm1 that oppo specifically states was designed to tuned the sound differently, the curves are basically almost identical.

Sorry, I meant the official graph from hifiman with the focus pads, those two graphs you linked are with the pleather pads.

Yeah I just put some Focus As on mine and got a longer cable. I don't know if I'll ever be motivated to use anything other than my HE-400s. Then again, I haven't heard much else from what's out there and I'm not sure if I want to for the sake of saving money.

The FocusPad-A has really solved much of the comfort issue I had with the HE-400 the first time. The headband still gets a little heavy on my head, but I've ordered a Lohb suspension leather headband, which I believe will make that a thing of the past. The only thing I've done is tweak the treble down a bit with EQ, and I'm done. I really love the HD650, but I'm finding myself reaching for the HE-400 more often than not now. Best $200+pads I've spent on headphones I think.

Yeah, that's an amazing price for this headphone. I was happy to pay $350 used for mine two years ago, and still am happy that I did rather than wait. I just ordered an HD600 and am curious how they are going to compare. I found this video after I ordered:

I thought that was pretty interesting.

Search jergpad's frequency response in this forum.

Does anyone here own both Fiio E17 and E18? And give feed back to which one you like better with HE-400.

I will be using the HTC One M7 as a player. Thank you.

Why should they sound different?

Quick question, i currently own HD 650 and Fidelio X1. Do you think that a pair of these are significant step up from either of those?

I don't think these are a step up from the HD650. Just a different sound signature.

Despite being in the honeymoon period with my new HE560s, I just fired up my HE400s as I haven't listened to them in a couple of months.  They still sound amazing, I'm pleased to report, even coming directly from my HE560s.  The slightly wonky midrange scoop is more apparent now, but I applied my EQ to them (toning down treble, lifting upper mids) and they are still supremely satisfying in terms of dynamic slam, bass presentation and they sound especially detailed too.  They are definitely an exciting listen, these HE400s and still have a place in my collection.  I can't say the same for the K702s - they're gone now.  I think I'll also be selling my KRK KNS 8400, Yamaha HPH200, Pioneer SE-A1000 and iGrados soon as well.

Mind elaborating how the HE400s EQed and HE560 differ in SQ?

8k: -1 or 1.5db

Interestingly, this is pretty much my EQ setting on top of my Jergpads although a slliighht variation on the bands etc lol.

Thank you for your feed back. My main player will be the HTC One M7. Any reasons why not pick the E18 over E17?
