Well i double hit the soundstage/depth issues on 400's/T50's with my Bushmaster 2 DAC (known for 3D imaging + wider soundstage...natural not neutral/analytical) and balanced cables. I would not rely on the internal amp on BM2 for 400's or T50's...you really need a speaker amp hooked up to the BM2 for planars...the BM2 amp section seems more suited to dynamics.....but the DAC section is superb for planars.

I'm also a very portable based listener, which unfortunately for me severely limits the gear available to me, as well as modifications. Has to do with me listening in various rooms of the house, or outside, at any given time. Its a real shame, leaving my vinyl neglected as much as I do.

dear friends of head fi i want to communicate my impression about the he 400 cable.... I have bought the silver coated cable for the he 500 and use it with the he 400 and discarded the canare cable.... I think that with the right  amp and dac the silver coated cable have a more spacious and airy sound with more details across all the spectrum... i dont want to come back to the canare cable... I have an Ember amp paired with the bushmaster dac....regards to all...

what i was asking for..

was an amp to improve the HE400 in the treble region

and MattTCG thanks for replying, i'll check about those EQ posts as well

I really don't think that an amp will do what you're asking for. Especially if you're looking to smooth out the peak in this hp.

so what is the best way to smooth-en up that peak

I think FAQ's added to post one way back would avoid this recurring question. There are EQ parametric curves posted by Nicholars and Beaver316.

See post 1 !!

It's the new amp and 650's combination putting you on a cloud...

That's a nice setup. I've heard good things about the Bushmaster.

Frankly i bought the two used ( the Ember and the Bushmaster)... I thinks that its certainly possible to have better than this pairs but with a most higher price.... I run the bushmaster mkII with ankaka battery.... The sound is detailed.... and the coated silver cable for the he 500 attached to my He 400 is marvellous with details all across the spectrum... and no more agressive high frequencies.....My next and last move move will be the he 560 in the next two years...I want to have the best for the minimum price... Its not for me to pay big money for only  minimal improvement....Simple note: before the Ember and the bushmaster i was not totally satisfied with the he 400 ,now i am pleased and i will wait two years before any upgrade....
