Can someone measure the inside cup dimensions for me?

I used a measuring tape held flat -- they're about 2.125" wide on the inside, no bigger.

I should note, I measured the pads. I didn't take a pad off and measure the diameter of the actual diameter of the cups. I can do that if you'd like.

Edit: Here's the cups.

~3.15" diameter from metal to metal, outside the plastic ring

~2.9" diameter from plastic ring to plastic ring

Yeah I'm curious about the cups. I want to know if I even *can* fit a T50rp driver in there.

Do you need any other measurements? I edited my post.

Hmm that's a tough call. The T50rp driver at its widest diagonal point is just a sliver under 3"...

what's that plastic ring?

I think it keeps the covers over the drivers on. I'm not ballsy enough to take it off.

That's the frame of the driver. Just pops right off along with the magnet attached. Super easy to mod

Is not a cover. Is the cup/frame of the whole driver. Just use a mini flat screw driver and lift it from the side. If I remember correctly (from when I opened mine) there is a little opening (maybe more than one) on the outer ring for this.

Just got my COPS, these sound fantastic!  I did amp them with the Headroom MicroAmp and achieved 110db.  Not bad, so I'm keeping these.  And that was with the bass ports on the 3rd position (2nd highest from maximum bass).

On a side thought, were the COPs supposed to come with two cables?  One standard and one with mic built in?  Because I received these used, and I think the previous owner jacked the mic cord - and left me with the standard one confused_face.gif

It only comes with a regular audio cable.

Ok, thanks!  I also re-read the Amazon description - the mic addition is separate.  I didn't notice that the first time around o2smile.gif

Great to hear man! So no distortion I take it? I was thinking the COPs would probably have distortion similar to the 770s until you put them on the highest bass port positions at which point it probably has the ability to move enough air to not distort. Is that your experience?

Congrats on the new cans, I didn't think you'd like the COPs much since you didn't like the 770s. Glad to hear you do.

Thanks!  Well, if I crank it up past the 110db that I'm perceiving, then the distortion/driver rattling starts to kick in.  I'm just quite surprised with this much bass within the cup, and it still gets satisfyingly loud as well.  The COPs and my HFi 580's are my babies!  And, for once, it seems like they will be my last as well - which my wallet will thank me too.

Happy to hear you like them and even happier to hear you got a pair that can reach that volume without distorting or clipping. Oh and no extra cords, just the one. It would have made more sense if they did include a chat cable or one with "i" control. Either way it's detachable so I'm sure one will be available soon
