Hi, anyone know if the Westone Epic Cable replacement can be used with the Aurisonics ASG 1.2?

Gear mentioned in this thread:

Yep. The AS line actually uses a similar cable

Right thanks.

Just received my ASG 1.2s today in the mail. It sounds so "open" yet "veiled"... I dont know how to describe it properly but I dont really like this sound signature, going to play around witht he EQ a little and if anyone has an S9 please post some EQs.

Yep, that's the effect of not having much treble quantity. Try using your treble booster EQ.

After having them on for an hour or so my ears start to hurt since they are so big... Ugh, not that impressed yet.

Is it just me or the treble is harsh and has sibilance? I know the treble is lacking but it just seems to have sibilance for some reason...

They were painful for me for the first 2-3 days but I eventually got used to them. I literally can wear them the whole day (did that before) and not feel any more pain.

I think the sibilance you are talking about is the emphasized mids?

I hope I get use to it too. rolleyes.gif

What do you mean emphasized mids? I hear slight sibilance I dont know why.

Well the tuning of the ASG-1 is to emphasize the vocals and maybe the forward vocals are what you perceive as sibilance? I personally don't hear sibilance at all, with both the stock cable and the Silver Dragons.

I definitely hear it... How do I lower it?

ASG 1.2 has close to no sibilance to my ears (un-EQ'ed). It is one of the darkest sounding IEM out there.

Maybe you're not getting a good seal? That could accentuate the highs.

Flat EQ on an S9. I think it is the mids... I believe I am getting a good seal because I can hear the rumbling bass... Not sure what is causing it though. Its dark yet harsh...

Have you tried the EQ I posted?

I tried my best but because Cowon doesnt allow you to modify whatever frequency you want, I could not get exactly what you posted.

Also, anyone know if I can get a Westone epic replacement cable but with the memory cable? I HATE memory cable and was hoping to get that cable but without the memory cable...

Hmm. Just try boosting the treble to your taste.
