Etymotic HF3/HF5 - how far do they stick out?

How far do the Etymotic HF3/HF5 stick out when worn? I've seen some pics where they don't seem to stick out much at all, but I've also seen some where they stick out a lot.

Depends on tip used and the size of your ear canal.  With smaller ears, they will stick out further, with bigger ears, they won't stick out as much.

Mine ends right where my tragus ends, so they're pretty much invisible from a front angle.

Mine goes out as far as my Antitragus comes out, so it is visible when in.

Hm,really? The "end" of mine (where the cable starts coming out) sits right between my tragus and antitragus, but as you said everyone's ears are different. I feel like overall they're very compact IEMs, definitely smaller than any of the others I've used.
