The Offical Unoffical SNES Thread

So there has to be some other SNES Fans ere other than me!

For starters though I will say just this... I'm currently searching for a more balanced Pair of headphones to use in conjunction with my many SNES OST... most of which btw are Mastered Audio Tracks not just game rips! So I love SNES instrumentals! I'm a fan of J-Rpg as well, I've played a decent amount of imported J-Rpg's [In Japanese] on my SNES console, I emulate now [so I can have English Patches]

My favorite OST is currently Secret of Evermore composed by Jeremy Soule [yea the famous one, this game was one of his first actually]

I still have my SNES connected to my bedroom TV. I'm going through Super Mario World again.

Here's some memorable favorites:

Illusion of Gaia

Super Punchout

Tetris Attack (beat this on hard so many times. Very addicting)

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (this has part 1 beat)

Super Castlevania (the graphics still hold up well)

Super Mario Kart (remember playing this after middle school every day when I was a kid. Now i'm 32!!)

Actraiser

My #1 favorite game is Zelda: A Link to the Past

Donkey Kong Country (never finished part 3)

Final Fantasy III

BTW I remember some of the games were once $70 new!!

Some DT880s would do you some good. smily_headphones1.gif

Though not sure if you have an amp or not.

I miss the 16 bit era. Such a golden age for gaming, and JRPGs in general.

Indeed I have a Fiio E6 [need something better soon obviously]

but yea the 16 bit era was my favorite as well! I enjoy a good bit of GBA OST and games as well, although not as much as SNES ;3

The E6 wouldn't do any good with any of the 880s. The E11 would so well with the 250ohm variants. The 32ohm DT880 is seemingly even harder to drive than the 250ohm, and would do best with amps that favor low impedance, high current output. The 600ohm, well, you want a good desktop amp.

Yea I know, & I want the E11 regardless of what I get next

I might go with the 250ohm Variety and pair it with the E11. An as far as desktop amps go I'm staying away from them until I get a better Desktop PC, my current one has limited space and itsn't even mine entirely so...

But ethier way thanks for the Recommendation! I was looking at Ultrasone Pro 750 as well... I think I might like DT880 better ;3

But getting back to SNES [and not headphones to enjoy SNES music on]

Front Mission 1 has a great OST, it's very jazzy. I took it off my Zune only because my current set up does it no justice! In addition, Tetris Attack [mentioned early'r] along with Super Metroid are both great OST's as well! Super Metroid OST has a few Orchestrated Tracks as well and they are pretty epic!

Chrono Trigger. That is all.

Mega man 7 anyone?

Subscribed and I thank you very much.

I don't play games very often, but the SNES emulator was the last system I played, and it will be the next when I play again (and we have a Wii, a 360, and a PS2 here, in addition to my other emulators).  I can't say this is my favorite system, or anywhere near the best (might be Dreamcast...), but it's the one that I've been wanting to play.

Still gotta finish Chrono Trigger.  I'm getting there, slowly.

Mega Man X any one elese?

Still Snes is a good system, yea it's not the best [I can agree with you on Dream Cast, Shun Mue was epic beyound Words...] but what makes it nice is most of the good games take about 25-30 hours to play through. And a good bit of them have more than one story line which makes em even better!
