DUNU Trident (DN-12)

Impressions:

I recently got myself a pair of Dunu Tridents after hearing that they are one of the best budget earphones available. Upon getting the package, I was very impressed with the packaging and presentation of the product. They are packaged extremely well and the earphones are displayed like a fine piece of jewelry; this was not something I was expecting for the price they go for. They have a simple design and are built very well, which is great because I won't have to worry as much about them breaking. Even the cables are comparable to other more expensive IEM models. I especially love the integrated cable winder, which makes storing them and winding them up so much easier. I'm not sure why no other company thought about it first, but kudos to Dunu for doing it.

Sound wise, the Tridents are better than any other in-ears I have tried at their price range. They don't sound as bassy as other earphones in its class, but they are much better controlled. It's not that the bass is lacking because it's not, but the bass doesn't muddy up all the other frequencies and are of higher quality. The mids and highs are also above average compared to its competition. There are more details and better clarity. No other <40 earphones sound as good as the Trident sound. They are a good all-rounder that excels at many genres.

As an overall package, the Trident should be at the top of its class. There is excellent build quality, very good sound, and an impressive packaging with lots of accessories. I would definitely recommend the Trident to anyone I know.
