The ATH-CKS77.

"burn-in" - I can't detect much more easily detectable change.

cks-77 took about 30 hours burn in for me.

ckm77 took about 100 hours burn in.

after burn in. the cks77 bass gets tighter and the vocal feels cleaner.

at the volume level that I listen at the cks77 works well for all kind of music. But like I have mentioned before the bass feels overwhelming at higher volume for me.....

The cks77 is a great headphone at my normal listening volume :)

Forgot to mention. the cks77 is the first heaphone that I have that the bassline feels different between flac and the mp3 version of the same song.

Never realised how much of a basshead I must be...I actually EQ the bass up even further with the ZO2 haha

I also starting to hear much more difference in the quality of my recordings...more so from 256kbps to 320kbps, huge difference now whereas it was only a small jump from my other earphones and headphones :D

After burning them in for 5 hours before work and using them for all 8.5 hours straight during work with rap, rock, pop, podcasts and anything else I could throw at them.. These headphones are it for me.. It's like believing the earth is flat then finding out it's round coming from the MG7.. The sound is so full and beautiful on every level.. I'm so far past impressed I'm not sure how exactly to explain it.. Again thanks for the initial impression/review you gave that led me to them.. Much appreciated

Glad they are to your liking..Now you understand the reason for the thread..I think it is about the overall presentation that is the most impressive about these..Do they not sound like you have a full 2.1 system in your ears? Even better, the sound fills your senses. I love it.

You know I don't think these have too much bass. Seriously. I look at them being more musical because of the full bass..People associate big bass as being something muddy or not sounding right. I don't think so. Not for these at least.

I truly hope for a CKS770 or even a higher end version.. You never know. I think the only way we will get a revision is by getting these in the ears of fans of this sound.

Ok Dsnuts...

You can say:
"well i told ya so didn't I ??!!?"

I'm loving these :)
Very bass present though - these should be considered a bass heavy/basshead earphone.

Might even tempt me to sell my MG7's now...yeah...i know right? 0.0!

Anyway, I did some ABin for danny, with my d2k's with d5k dampened cups....and I gotta say the cks77's are the little brothers of my "d5ks"
Soundstage, depth, bass, rumble, mids (almost), highs (almost).

Only thing that gets me...is the microphonics...and the quite loud bass.
What other models do AT do, which have cks77-esk sound but with lower bass, and/or different design?

Oh and the cks77's still don't beat the mg7s in sub-bass.
Don't get me wrong:
mg7 sub-bass: 10/10
cks77: 9.5/10
MDT: 8.5/10

So cks77's have a great sub-bass, but their mid bass is much more present/better than the mg7's one.

And yes mg7's have a flat line response, that might feel a little boring to some.
cks77s are fun!

See how much burn-in and mental burn-in changes people's minds :D!

lol....when i have time
MDT's btw are no longer in my hands, and my 2nd set coming will be boxed up and hopefully sold on ebay

Gotcha. Still, would be nice to hear a comparison even if it isn't direct. On a different note, so those $52 CKS-77s are actual CKS-77s? Can anyone point me to a partial review on the ebay ones?

To catch you up. BGRoberts who owns a boxed version ended up getting those. From his reports they are indeed originals but not coming in a box or all the extras means they are factory seconds. There are minor imperfections on these. He reported there was a chip in the paint on the earphones. Probably the reason why they were rejected.. So that seems to be a good deal. Stock large tips and small tips. No Xtra large or medium size and no pouch.

For what its worth.. These have a similar sound tuning to the Monster Miles Davis Tributes but beats them in every category..Much bigger sound stage and better clarity..Compared to the MG7s..These have a much bigger fuller sound. Much more engaging and a blast to listen to..It is the depth in the sound that is amazing on these..Worth trying one out.

Thanks allot for that comparrisson! For such a large price tag that is incredible that the CKS77´s hold up to the Denon...I may just leave them then if they are that close in SQ...and just stick with my Beyer DT770 for movies and gaming and CKS77 for music, even at my desktop!

Thanks again....and Dsnuts has been holding the CKM500 in high regard with similar esque sound to CKS77 but with less bass and better highs so you may wanna check them out, seperate thread for em´

Also so glad i got the CKS77´s over the MG7´s now...was VERY tempted to get them because of all the "best basshead IEM" claims...but it seems theres a new kid on the block LOL

Dang, beat me to the race! Yes, like danny said, Dsnuts believes the ckm500s are the IEM hybrids of all ckm Iems and cks77s, less soundstage though.
