Here's the deal:

I have a playlist.  I change the songs within the play list.  I plug my iPod in and sinc that with the playlist. After sinc'ing, the iPod remains unchanged.

What the hell's up with that?!?!?

Am I doing something wrong?

I think you have to move the playlists over from iTunes to the portable device.

Make sure you are properly ejecting your iPod, as well as when its plugged in, check in iTunes on the menu for the iPod that shows up that you are syncing that playlist (under "music" tab) and then hit the sync button at the bottom of the page. That should fix an issue you are having. It also may be the case that the files you are trying to add are not supported by the iPod, so iTunes wont even transfer them. you might need to click the convert to aac option on the info page of the ipod in iTunes to fix that

Yep.

That's what I'm doing.

All the music's been uploaded into iTunes.

It just doesn't work.  I've removed and reloaded software, but that didn't help.

This really is starting to piss me off.

... buy a Zune HD and enjoy the simple to use software ;3

no JK, I have iTunes still and my iPod [which is nice for Audio books]

I've had that issue b4.

Again I'm not sure what version of iTune your using [I have an old build from like 2010-2011] I run it on Windows XP SVP3

For my I create my playlist in iTunes, I can usually drag music files right into the playlist window

Once the play list is created, I select my iPod from the devices listed an the Side Bar in iTunes, once I'm at the screen that controls my device, there is a list of tabs.

Under the "music" tab there is an option to ethier sync automatically or manually chose what music to sync [I'd got with Manual, unless you have like a 200gb iPod]

So for with "Manual *****" selected, there is a scroll down menu that displays my playlists. I simply click the playlist and "Sync"

I run into problems with it to, sometimes it messes my playlists up when that happens I remove all my music and reload it all.

Also I have a iPod Nano 3'd Gen...

Hope that helps! And with going back to my "get a zune joke" ironically the Zune Software does not work on my PC... somethings wrong with my OS so I have to use another Pc and transport my music via an external hard drive BUT iTunes works on my pc JUST FINE so Kudos to Apple... for now! [although I stopped updating iTunes in December 2010 (I got my first error message from a software update so I rolled back to an older version) and I got my Zune HD in 2012 so chances are the up to date iTunes wont work for me but :D I kept my old version]
