I figured it wouldn't last long at this price. :)
Up for sale is a Sennheiser IE80 still in box. My IE8, purchased in April 2011 broke March 2012 (last month). It was still under the two year warranty Sennheiser is known for, so I got it replaced at no extra cost. Because the IE8 is no longer in production, I was given a brand new pair of Sennheiser IE80. Because I want to take this chance to leap to customs, here it is up for sale.
I have only taken these out of the box once to check that it works and played a song on it. There are not burnt in, as I only took them out to hear if they work or not, and then put them back into the box straight away. All instruction manuals, ear hooks, accessories are still sealed. None of the tips have been used. It is still under warranty up to April 2013 (standard Sennheiser 2-year warranty).
This was purchased from hifiheadphones.co.uk, an authorized reseller. These are not fake by any means. The serial number is also uploaded in the photographs. Because these are essentially brand new and has a year of warranty, I think $299 is a VERY FAIR price ($449 MSRP in the US). This does not include shipping, but does include the PayPal fees. Essentially, pay for $299 and shipping and these are yours.
The reason I'm selling it for a low price is because I'm situated in Australia and shipping to the USA can start at ~$40 if you want it tracked and insured. If you're a buyer in Australia I'll ship these for free. If you want it insured, you have to pay and extra $10 for insurance. Pretty good deal I think.
I'm not in a rush to sell them, but I don't seek to make a profit with these as you can see. I bought them for the full retail price last year. I just want to move on and try custom IEMs, so I'm letting this one go to a fellow Head-Fier. If you think the price is unreasonable, feel free to negotiate. I'm all ears for offers. To be honest though, this is a very very low price, and I doubt these will last long. Just doing something nice for my fellow head-fiers.
Have fun!
