nitpickingly one could say thats a themed product, not celebrity endorsed... I guess its part marketing budget, part brand handling/promotion. Val is quite active here and is for sure in a better position to answer that than I am ;-)

 

all in all I'd say that a good product is not ruined by putting a celebrity name on it (but it might get more expensive to the customer) while the name alone of course does not rescue a bad product. in case of AKG that might yield a good product with a name on it I don't care much about: I don't need that endorsement to find the product, but it will also not keep me from buying it as the branding seems not too invasive. and as a fan of EDM I might enjoy the sound signature... which is why I keep an eye on this thread.

I was really looking forward to K267 as an upgrade to my K181 DJ, but looking at this specs + price difference really has me thinking...

Specs means nothing, I've never taken specs into concideration when doing a purchase as I know they are pretty useless to look at. Reviews & measurements tells what you need.

Definitely K267, circumaural (yes the other one is also advertised but probably too small for most people's ears) and 3-setting bass adjustment, should be quite easy pick IMO. Maybe K267 is the upgraded Beyer Custom One Pro. :P

There are many differences - the drivers, mechanics, and padding are very different on both the K167 and K267. The 267 has 50mm drivers, better padding, and adjustable bass boost, while the 167 has none of those, and the common 40mm driver.

 

I'd say you should get the 267 - I look forward to hearing what you think about it, as it is way up there on my list.

 

EDIT: Apologies, I thought you were talking about the 167 vs 267, not the 181 vs 267.
