Which it should be in the first place.
Well, we all feel strongly about our cans one way or the other, so I can understand why it happened. No blood spilled, so it all worked out in the end.
I would HIGHLY recommend this for portability's sake. It's less heavy and less of a theft magnet. Plus, it's more balanced IMO.
Finally had the chance to hear these at J&R. Pretty interesting, though I would pay $400 tops for them. Sure, the bass hits hard, approximately double that of the es10s, but I think it's tastefully done. Combined with some honky mids and you've got a very fun headphone.
I want them D600s now.
Yep, don't think I'd have paid the original asking price but at £450 here in the UK - That's about right I think. I'll pick up a pair of D600's soon I think.
FWIW, I went into a D600 audition at a meet back in Feb, and was pleasantly surprised. The natural presumption was that things would get progressively boomier and muddier traversing down the ladder. Not so here. For me there was a greater sense of balance, and a smoother mid-to-high transition. It won't have the low-end impact of the D7100, but I liked it a lot for what it did right.
I have both the D2K (Lawton modded) and the D600. They are both fantastic phones.
They compare favorably with my other 'good phones' - Sig Pro, M-100, Pro900.
Paid $239 for the D600 which was a steal. Forget the graphs. Listen to the phones. I can imagine the D7100 must be phenomenal.
Halim, I happen to know that Magick Man purchased them and tried them out. So he definitely listened to them. In fact, I don't think he even saw the graphs until afterward. Just a difference in preferences in this case.
I liked the new Denons before they were cool, does that make me a hipster?
I still want Denon to drop the MSRP on those though, $399 for the D600 and $799-899 for the D7100 and they would be killers. Japanese manufacturers sometimes think too highly of themselves.
Yep, at the right price point these things are terrific. I'm thinking more like $300 for the D600 and I have no idea on the D7100 cause I have no idea how great they are.
