I really like their who stance on competitors. Something other businesses need to learn.

Thanks for the responses earlier, Jason and Maxvla. I hadn't seen the FAQ on the Web site before and had only briefly looked at the specs. It now seems likely that I'll buy the amp, if not the DAC too, when they come out. The amp in particular ticks a lot of boxes on my checklist. smile.gif

 

I have a few more questions for Jason:

 

1 - Is the "one pair dual 3-pin female XLR" output listed on the Mjolnir specs a loop output? I'd assume it is but just wanted to make sure.

2 - Is the gain of the Mjolnir modifiable - either by Schiit or the user? Specifically, can the gain be lowered for an individual amp?

3 - Will the Mjolnir be displayed at the upcoming THE Show Newport Beach? If so, will the Audeze LCD-3 be part of the headphones available to demo with?

There's a pair of 3-pin headphone outputs, as well as a 4-pin headphone outs, which can be used at the same time. There's also a pair of 3-pin male preamp outputs, which are amplified and controlled by Mjolnir's volume pot.

Nope, but the noise floor is very, very low, thanks to the low-noise JFET input and balanced design.

 

3 - Will the Mjolnir be displayed at the upcoming THE Show Newport Beach? If so, will the Audeze LCD-3 be part of the headphones available to demo with?

 

Yep, we'll be there, and we may or may not have LCD-3s (we've been waiting a bit on those). We'll definitely have LCD-2 "vegans."

Someone mentioned earlier that the statement amp can be built as SS or Hybrid. Will this be an option or will it only be available as a Hybrid?

Being able to run two sets of cans at the same time as well as being able to run two lines out are great extras.

Do you have a firmer idea of the cost of the statement gear as yet or are there still variables being worked out?

relay-switched stepped attenuation, no flashy monitor, SS option, pre-amp out, I am definitely waiting for the statement.

Jason, will Mjolnir have both xlr and rca inputs, or is it one or the other? Hoping to use the Bifrost with it until I decide which DAC to upgrade to.

 

It's a shame the stepped attenuator is reserved for the statement gear. It was a feature I was anticipating for the Mjolnir.

The site lists 1 RCA and 1 XLR in.

Just to side track the conversation, did yo ufind the Vegan pads on the LCD-2 to detract the SQ at all?

 

There are minimal impressions of it on these forums.

Sorry if I'm being dense here. So, it's one or the other? You choose RCA or XLR input at time of purchase? I'm not after a lecture on the topology... just want to know if the Bifrost will work with the Mjolnir.

It comes with both but you can only use one at a time because using the RCA shorts the XLR connection.
