Recable UE700 Singapore

Hey guys,

Recently my UE 700's wire became bare, so I need to recable it.( it is necessary right? Since the cable may short circuit?)

Would you happen to know where I could get this done?

Thanks

(Sorry if this is in the wrong section seems to be only place I can post this though)

I think it'd be better if you posted in Hardware Zone, as the majority of users there are Singaporean. While Head-fi does have a lot of Singaporean users, they make up a small minority, and only they can give you the relevant resources on where to go to get things fixed.

Where has it been stripped? If it's close to the termination, then you only need to re-terminate to a shorter length and you're okay. If not, then you'll need a full recable. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, electrical tape might help.

UE700 has two years warranty, IIRC. Better asking Logitech if you can claim the warranty first before trying to recable it yourself.

Thanks for the quick reply. Actually, Ive already posted in hardware zone but posted here too so that the likelihood of getting help was better.

Heres a picture:

This is a somewhat old picture when the wire was still barely hanging on but now its come out.

Yeah on the box it claims to have 2 year warranty but on Logitech's web It says only 1. I've asked logitech about this but no reply as of yet so just seeing what my options are if I am unable to claim warranty.

Legally, Logitech does need to give you two years warranty since that's what stated on the box when you purchased it. That's a legal contract between manufacturer and the buyer You can even make a case in the Consumers Association of Singapore if they don't want to honor the two years term. Judging from the picture, I'll say the warranty should cover it since cable sleeve coming out of the mold is most likely due to manufacturing imperfection.

I know this's way old... but I've had similar thing with my beloved UE700s and I contacted Logitech 1month before my warranty expired and they fulfilled it and got it replaced.. But as much as I love the UE700's, I wish I could recable them with braided cable like the DBA-02 or BrainWavz B2!
