Do I prefer to order from places that ship same-day? Sure. Would I take note of that when weighing up my options next time around? Of course.
But I would hardly raise a fuss, let alone bad-mouth a retailer publicly over it if I had to wait a couple more days, especially if I'm getting it at an exclusive promotional price.
I look at it this way.
On one hand you have an employee that always comes in a little early to be prepaired for his, or her day, never lies to you about being sick to get a day off, works through some of the first few minutes of breaks at times because they know that the job they are working on needs to be done sooner than later, they don't scedule vacations at the busiest times of the companies year, before they do leave for any vacation they make sure that all jobs are up to date and complete, they never tell you that they have a job covered and under control, then not produce, they simply always get the job done in at least half the time than any other employee, they're always very vocal, and communicate well with others. This employee gets paid $30/hour.
On the other hand, you have an employee that is the last one to show up for work and the first one to leave, drops what ever he, or she is doing at the drop of a hat because it is break time, they call in sick with an elaborate story when ever they just don't feel like coming in, they always seem to be on vacation when things are the busiest, they tell you that they can handle any job that you throw at them, then they wait till the last minute to tell you that there was too much work and they'll need more time to finish, on occasion they forget to communicate with others on projects that they are involved in with, most of the time they do get the job done, but not without worry that it might not be done, and without mistakes, they seem to always tell you what you want to hear. This employee gets paid $15/hour.
See where I'm going with this? It seems kind of silly that one person could always get the job done, but is not even expected to because, remember, "you're getting a deal".
That, is what gets me going. Your point is taken. I guess I do just expect people and business to put their best foot forward most of the time, and try. Make an effort. Sitting on your hands is bad for your back in business
