The M50s mids sound more recessed than my Beats Pros and the Beats are neither mid forward nor neutral so...

Measurements don't mean nothing.  The best way in which you can back up an assessment on how something sounds is by taking actual measurements.

You wouldn't argue against Beats having over-emphasised, muddy bass, would you?  My other point is yes, these characteristics can be subjective to a degree, but when it's this clear-cut I find it odd to claim otherwise.

FYI i'm amping them through an O2 headphone amp.

Re-read my last posts, they weren't done in a negative manner, in fact I was quite "interested" in his tests.

It seems you contradict yourself. You adamantly call for a subjective view, then take the objective plead. What on earth?

Stop bringing in the Beats, that's totally detracting from the point. The Beats low-end is completely irrelevant to the m-50s mid-range.

As for you my friend, you need to seriously stop posting about headphones when you don't own them. For example the k701/k701/q701.

What gain are you using  on the o2 ? And that's not a source FYI/ You can't even seem to understand my questions.

You'd accept pictures as evidence of how something sounds?

Hmm.

No, I clearly asked you to provide information, which you can't seem to do. How do I know you even own the m50s?

How about you contribute to this forum instead of just talking?

Wow, you just fully endorse the denouncement of the Beats, and now you're supporting Giga for his statement? Someone who finds the Beats to have more forward mids?

Maybe you should consider purchasing the Beats, since you seem to think they are so terrible on hearsay alone. And if you have owned them, I wonder why you have the m50s now? Or do you?

If you don't want to respond to me anymore, why precisely are you asking me further questions?

Isn't that a pretty blatant contradiction on the very first line of your post?

So you have heard both and disagree?

Another logical fallacy, why bother?

Pick more holes instead of actually adding to your statement. Go for it.

And keep avoiding the questions aimed at you. Please explain to me why you keep making statements about cans you don't own?

I own 2 pairs of m-50 and have had 3 pairs of Beats in my household. So yes.

And just as food for thought, I've been on here long enough to see most of the m-50 threads.

Don't you think I keep hearing the same old arguments ?

At least bother providing some information regarding what you're using the m-50s with, rather than making an obtuse statement.

"Wow" indeed - it is possible to listen to a pair of headphones without owning them, isn't it?  I have heard them - in fact I borrowed a pair for a few days.  Your 'hearsay' claims are pure nonsense, as are your claims that I do not own M50s.  Quite why you are attempting to dispute such things - sounds to me as though you like a good ol' personal attack to deflect from your own flawed logic.

You seem awfully upset over this thread as it contains opinions and information which do not match what you prefer to believe.

Logical fallacy?  Of course I'll pick holes - you're being inconsistent.

No thanks, I prefer not to be banned.

You, however, can continue your rage.

Sure you borrowed them for a few days, maybe you should have stated that beforehand. Demoing or having impressions is different from continued head-time.

I didn't make a claim that you don't own m-50s. I told you to stop posting on threads about cans you don't own. For example the k701 thread.

It's the exact reason why I edited it and took it out, because I wasn't going to stand for it.

It's not a logical fallacy to state something and take it back.

Unlike you, who seems to agree that "ad hominem" attacks are more constructive with your last statement.

So you are just proving that people hear things differently.

People: M50s mids are recessed, You: NO THEY'RE NOT RAWR

Me: Beats are more mid forward than M50, You: NO THEY'RE NOT RAWR

This may surprise you, but you are not always right. Take a deep breath and calm down.

If really sounds like YOU are the one raging to be honest.

'None of your business' again I suppose, but ok:

amped direct through portable (Samsung Galaxy) - bass sounds overemphasised, mids recessed (similar to the Beats I tried, though not as bad)

amped through FIIO E9/E7 combo - bass overemphasised, mids recessed, only minor improvement in overall clarity

amped through O2, line out from modified ASUS Xonar Essence - as above

Pretty consistent in its characteristics.  My wife agrees on the bass (but doesn't understand what I mean by recessed mids).

Are you going to come back once again and claim my assessment meaningless, like you have all others?  Or are you now going to claim I don't own this equipment, either?
