A discussion about phones and tablets - Page 4

Base price for a 4S, off contract, is $650. So, not too far off.

As for the customer service, I'm not sure how it is internationally. If I have problems with an apple product, I can just go down to my local apple store and have them work on it. I had an original macbook and had my hard drive fail... I went down to the apple store and walked out with a new hard drive installed about an hour later. You can have pretty much anything like that done for free if you're still in warranty and it wasn't something that was directly your fault. Sometimes you can get replacements from your carrier, but you generally wont find same day service like that with other brands.

Of course, the other side to that is... Once the warranty ends, they charge a bit much for the parts and then there's the cost of labor. It's generally better if you can just do it yourself once you're out of warranty.

Well...other brands just don't have stores...that's the big difference.

And I was watching Bloomberg - and saw that Apple CEO, went to China - to expand the market - ironic -was he reading my head-fi post :P?

No......you're not an Apple fanboy , but this is old news and not interesting to us fanboys. China recently just had higher number of activations that any number of countries..and the 4S is their first actual phone to be availble there (4 was there a year after it was released in U.S i think)

He is going to India next.... and the Chinese and European and Canadian markets have yet to even be exploited yet. In canada iOS activations just shot through the roof and have just bypasses RIM activiations..on their own turf. EU is catching on but not too massively and only one Chinese carrier(i think) is currently caring legit Apple products

I think being any form of "fanboy" would kill you too. Fandroids are way worse than Apple fanboys.

You'll find them fandroids in any Engadget article about Apple products flaming away at it. They pretty much worship Android and think anything Apple makes suck.

You should read the Verge. They're the best and generally have the most intelligent commenters.

Thanks for the heads up. i see they are kinda new :) which is good. their site is a bit slow and some things aren't as fluid as i would like but that's fine :)

That's what i would think. Tech blogs have been getting a bit out of gear lateley.

There's so much apple flaming and biases that are getting into these articles. the only place i can guarantee unbiased articles on Apple is from Appleinsider. plz note..apple insider is not pro apple. ifyou actually read any of their articles you can just see how their wording very specificlaly never...makes you feel like one is better than the other.
