Denon D5000 or Grado PS-500? - Page 3

I own modded D7000 which where my favorite can for years. Just bought a re-cabled 8 wire TWag/TWcu PS500 and I am blown away by how good these are. I was not expecting this kind of depth, clarity and tonality. I dare to say these are the better headphone.

I listen to them both balanced out of audiogd flagship system so they are fed well. Grados will typically sound great out of even a portable source.

Oh, & with flats they sound better and are really comfortable imo.

You would love the Fostex TH900! They give you better sound, in the vein of the D7000, and slightly better comfort also.

Yes, very easy, they are the new kid on the block and almost everyone are stocking them.

Out of my head Moon-Audio and BHphotovideo (US).

MSRP 2000 USD, but Moon-Audio had a 10% off them very recently and maybe still has it.

I did a quick Google search and I found a Canadian dealer for it, http://www.headfoneshop.com, located in Toronto. 2000 CAD (http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/648997911-fostex_th900_premium_reference_headphones__the_headfoneshop/)

seem quite hard to get in the United Kingdom. A few places showing out of stock.

I read a few threads on Headfi discussing the TH900, seems logical they would be better than the Denon D7000, as Fostex designed both and the TH900 uses the newly developed drivers with 1.5 tesla magnetic flux density.

havent heard them yet, its on my 'to hear list'. I really like the Denon D7000, a very fun, yet coloured headphone. needs a good amp to focus the heavy bass.

I bought my pair used and they are not treble hot to my ear- but I have heard two other pairs that have thin sounding treble. It led me to believe that Grado have quality control issue with this model. My pair also have slightly boomy bass whereas a lot of PS1000 are raving about their bass. Basically, I am not sure...
