NAMM = National Association of Music Merchants

Yes a stock ASG-2 costs 499 USD since the promotion is over.

It uses a dual ba + single dynamic configuration.

There's an Aurisonics thread for more questions about the ASG-2.

You can't, as it doesn't even have a release date yet. When it does, and judging from other recent VSONIC releases, pre-orders will only be available inside China. Then, 2 or 3 weeks after it's oficial release in China it will probably start showing up on eBay from chinese sellers and maybe at Lendmeurears too...

Finally there seems to be some news about the "GR08"! VSONIC's CEO just announced that it will hit the market around February 25, and I think this new model has finally been officially named, not "GR08" but V7007 instead!!!

tomscy2000, I need your help again to correctly translate the following two announcenments regarding the V7007:

Quote 1:

Quote 2:

From Google's messy translation, there seems to be more information there about this new model... beerchug.gif

So they're following AKG's naming scheme now? Hmm...

Translation:

Vsonic's 2013 flagship hybrid IEM (to be named V7007) will be officially revealed to the public in January, and is estimated to be launched in the market on February 25th. It will be constructed from pure stainless steel, and workmanship will of course be top notch. With regards to audio quality, I will only say that it compares well with the K3003, and possibly surpasses it. The MSRP will be set at 1999 Renminbi for now.

We welcome everyone to participate in audition sessions after the launch, and please reserve comments until after listening to them. The most significant factor with these IEMs is frequency division processing (edit: not sure if I got this part right), and the K3003 has not done such a good job in this area, so why can't we call it out for its flaws? The K3003 can only brag about its price and packaging and nothing more.~ Vsonic's technology and skills allow the company to compete and establish itself in the global market as well, so don't let the ambition of others decrease your prowess~ Local products aren't as weak (or uncompetitive) as you think, thank you.

Key points:

1) GR08 to be officially named -> V7007

2) Official in January

3) Market launch (assuming in China): February 25th, 2013 thereabouts

4) Compares, possibly surpasses the K3003.

5) MSRP (for now) : 1999 Renminbi/Chinese Yuan

So the last part of the announcement from the CEO was a bit nationalistic.

So the last part of the announcement from the CEO was a bit nationalistic.

what hell. he cloned 3003 and tells that

If I'm correct 1,999.00 CNY = $320.599 US
post #595 of 920

Well, Chinese do express themselves in a more nationalistic manner sometimes, and to be fair, his statement seems to suggest that Vsonic's technology can modify the K3003 design such that the V7007 will be able to surpass it. Of course, it is still a clone.

The part about the K3003 sounds a bit rough to be coming from a CEO of a company like VSONIC. If that was the case, he better hope his product backs up the smack he just laid out there.

That said, I hope this becomes a high end competitor to the other iem's around its street price.

320 seems exactly what people here are saying would be the limit they would spend. So vsonic got the pricing right.
Assuming everything the ceo says is factual, and I tend to think it is, this is poised to be another industry game changer from vsonic.

It remains to be seen if they did any 'cloning' of the K3003, but at a minimum, this is clearly a shot across the bow of what is supposed to be the premier hybrid iem in the world. The name makes it sound like a bit of a copycat, but not the price.

I think the ceo was only making a comparison and he compared his to the best.

Gotta love the cheeky name change. tongue_smile.gif
