I'm not shure about that, but I'll try to get that info...

Meanwhile, and just for reference, here's a picture of the K3003 schematics (sorry for the german):

I really don't think they would be Knowles TWFK dual drivers... considering their price...

And if they are... eek.gif

Well, VSONIC is already using it on the GR01, so it makes sense they'll use it also in the GR08. But this is just my impression... rolleyes.gif

Lol I meant that about the K3003s deadhorse.gif

I already assumed that the GR08 will have the Knowles TWFK wink.gif

From what I could find around here, and this is not an official AKG info, they're indeed supposed to have a Knowles dual-BA driver, but it's some special retuned/rebuilt version of it, specifically made for the K3003 according AKG spec. So, this would partially explain the price... rolleyes.gif

I still find it hard to justify the price of the K3003. Basically all you're paying for is a huge premium. The only way I can justify the price is if it's made of titanium with say... Platinum plating, instead of it made from brushed stainless steel. redface.gif

With that said, I find the GR08's (rumoured) price to be a lot more realistic as it is not that expensive or similar in price compared to other higher end universals.

Agree, I do find the K3003s kinda overpriced. (let's hope music_4321 doesn't hear me). I fine the Westone 4s to be not lacking at all compared to the K3003s.

The K3003 is quite a piece of engineering, though. The tolerances on that machined body are incredibly tight, and everything is just really well put together. It's also the second best sounding universal I've ever heard next to the FI-BA-SS, with it being arguably better in technical capability (to my ears, the FI-BA-SS has superior cohesiveness, while the K3003 is better extended).

If the GR08 can match the K3003 in technical capability and be enclosed in an attractive housing, I'd gladly drop $440 on it...

You know, it turns out to be a real luck to be living in China in such times... Chinese products are becoming more and more well-known, obviously for the bang/back performance they offer.... And because I'm in China, it's much easier to find their products and they usually come with an even lower price-tag than in the US, although usually not by much (but somestimes differ very much too), so to sum it up, the price here is even cheaper than the price in the US, which was already cheap in the first place :P

I know right biggrin.gif

Just got GR07 at reasonably good price.

(Only sad thing is I have to ask a Chinese friend to buy on-line for me, since I can't read rolleyes.gif)

We don't know that yet. But I doubt it... I thunk Vsonic wants to keep the price down as much as possible.
