haha yeah I use hardstyle too. Bass definitely seems to help the speaker break in quite a bit but pink noise is the...refined? approach lol because it covers all frequencies

I would be doing that with an e11 at full volume for a few days straight, but my Lumia audio jack is broken... frown.gif

http://www.head-fi.org/t/714520/akg-k240-studio-review#post_10455946 did a review on the k240's. Did I do a good job?

Not too bad, but I didn't really see anything discussing comiparison of the bass mids and treble or any frequency response peaks. Still it's always useful information to have on here. Maybe I'm just way too much of an engineer.

I know this thread has been inactive for just over two months :O but I just had to comment as I love AKGs.....also, 14 pages and no love for the k512 MKii? I'm disappointed. :frown:

I am planning to (hopefully) get a flat response AKG (°_°)phone for audio editing, sometime within two years.

But I will not wait until that moment. I want to get informed as early as possible. So, here is my question: which model has a flatter sound: K702, or K612 Pro?

I already have k240S, but I don't think it is as flat as a pair can get (though I still love it).

well if you go k702 you are gonna have to buy a powerful amp for it, seeing as how its harder to drive than an HD650... Ask some of the guys around here what a great amp is to use with it. I can say the k702 is most likely more neutral based on what the owners of both have said. I'm looking into k812 and have a job... Saving up for it... smily_headphones1.gif

So, no one here who owns both K702 and K612Pro to share their experience?

Lol....I am here, but I'm just a wee newb with little experience in properly describing just what makes them so great. I can certainly leverage criticism against them, such as the laughable plastic they used to construct the headband arch, plus the flimsy quality of the headband itself, but that doesn't really strengthen my case any does it?

No, I want to hear from someone who really knows what they're talking about. I want to hear them describe in detail the sound quality; what they excel at, and what they fail to succeed in, what their sound is like in intimate detail, like has been described with the 702s and 240s.

From the few reviews I could find, the general consensus is that they are exceptionally bright and detailed, have an almost open-can like soundstage despite being closed (sort of...), have occasionally overly harsh treble, and are very genre dependent. While I agree with the majority of feedback on these cans, I have to disagree with that regarding their treble. The JVC IEMs I own display harsh treble in many instances; the K512 mkii present it in a very forward and outgoing manner, however the detail is just nuts and never harsh or grainy, at least compared to anything else I've tried. The best way I can think of to describe them is sharp and spindly. While harsh and grainy things hurt, the k512 is the fine razor blade that you slice your hand with, but don't notice until the blood drips down your finger. Okay maybe that's kinda weird and a little overeager, but you get the idea.

I need to get some sleep...g'night.

I own the K601 and K701, which sound very similar to the K612 and K702 (which I have also tried). Let me say that the K601 has a more realistic sound signature, leaning towards the HD600, but they sound a bit boring and distant. The K701 on the other hand sounds much more unrealistic, it's straight linear and very bright with a very very wide soundstage. I've used them to edit orchestral recordings, they did a very good job. Also bought the K712 this week, but returned them. Had too much bass and lower mids for my taste and I don't believe the K712 are made in Austria. Assembled, yes, but I can't believe they're entirely made there. The build quality was that bad.

Yes, I've had this impression. Some of the plastic parts looked very cheap and poorly made.

K121 vs k240 ? Anyone?
Love the looks of the k121 than the k240 but i hope they sound on par on each other
