Hi everyone.  I'm not exactly sure where to post this thread so if I'm wrong I apologize.

I'm just wondering how IEM owners here store / maintain / take care of their IEMs when they're on the go.  Meaning just going out to the mall, the office, anywhere public as an example.  I used to have crappy earphones and just wrap them around my PMP and stuff them in my pockey because I frankly do not care.  But now that I start making smarter (and more expensive) purchases (thanks to this forums..) I want to find out how you Head-Fi'ers have creative ways (or gadgets) to keep your IEMs safe and intact.

I have RE-262s and in the winter I just place them in the inner breast pocket of w/e coat I'm wearing and it's a pretty safe and snuggly spot for them.  But now that spring and summer is aproaching I will be just rocking shirt and jeans and I have seriously no clue how to bring my IEMs outside without destroying them.

Thanks in advance of any ideas

There's already another thread on this topic. But in general the least expensive (read free) method is to disconnect them from your PMP and wrap them around three fingers and stuff them into your pocket.

Oh sorry can you point me to that thread please.

About you suggestion, wouldn't the housing for the drivers still have a chance of getting clobbered and all.

Well, yes, but for most people the problem isn't that their housings can get damaged, but rather the cable can be stressed to the point that you start losing sound in the earpieces.
