Sounds good. Would the Clip+ be a capable source for these IEMs?  (Hopefully my questions are not too bothersome, really does seem like an intriguing product though)

The Clip+ would be fine (I use a Fuze and J3), the impedance on them is only 31ohms so the Clip+ can power them no problem.

On Cowon players if you put the BBE on ViVA or ViVA 2 if you want more bass the soundstage on the R-50 gets big, it sounds much larger than one my Fuze or computer.

Their single driver IEM's may be worth looking into as well, although I do not expect them to perform the same way as the R-50. As I understand, could be wrong, they use the same single driver, just different housing/design and the specifications should be:

 

R-20 31 Ohm/500Hz/109 DB  $39.99

R-30 29 Ohm/1000Hz/114 DB $69.99

 

I'm kind of curious how they match up against other single driver IEM's like the the DBA-03, UE600, Phonak's cheapest model, all units that are relative much higher priced.

 

I prefer the design of the R-20 better than the R-30 (price as well), so I may take another chance with this one.

Yea I was originally going to get the R-20 but went for the top dog instead and I'm so glad I did.  Now I thought the R-20 has the Knowles Siren driver and the R-30 has something else more like a standard style drive.  They say in the R-20 description that it has a cylinder BA and the R-30 has a tubular BA so I'm pretty sure its s Siren driver in the R-20.

 

For only $40 I might still get the R-20 to see how it compares to the MEE A151 and Soundmagic PL50 because they all use the Siren driver and are also priced very well to.

 

I'm waiting for MEE to come out with there new BA the A161 which looks exactly like the Fischer DBA-03.

Also if you look at the Fischer DBA-01 and the R-30 without the rubber cover they look almost the same.

I agree that the Rock it armature products all seems to have a very close relation to the FA DBA's products. Different tuning/filters/tweaks etc. gives it a different outcome, could be for the better or worse, but so far IMO a very positive experience with the R-50.

I totally agree as far as having a very positive experience.  I've never heard the DBA-02/B2 the only other TWFK I've heard is the UE700 which many say is the worst sounding of the TWFK's.  In another thread I was asked if the R-50 sounds as good as the DBA-02 and I said that I haven't heard them but I told them that I can guaranty you they don't sound worse because thats how confident I am with they way the R-50 sounds.

 

As I'm sitting hear with them in listening to Perfecto Presents South America mixed by Hernan Cattaneo (2002) I can't help but try to remember how I came across the Rockit Sounds website because I don't even know what I was looking for when I found it.  It must have been fate that lead me to them ;)

Well maybe not but I still believe that their not worse, I've read a fair amount of DBA-02 reviews and they do have the same drivers.  Now I know just because they both use the TWFK doesn't mean one is better or worse than the other because of different tuning but from the DBA-02 reviews I've read not to mention what jupiterknight said about both I have a good idea of how the R-50 would stack up against them.

 

Also I haven't heard the Vsonic GR01 but from jokers review and how I hear the R-50 is almost the same as how joker hears the GR01 and I don't think it would be worse than the DBA-02 either.

 

All I know is that the Rockit Sounds R-50 is an extremely good sounding IEM and not just for the price.  Compared to say my e-Q7, TF10 and GR07 the R-50 sound every bit as good and thoughs are some great sounding IEM's imo.

 

I hope I didn't come off as being rude or anything I'm just really liking these IEM's and would love for others to try them.  You can call me the Rockit Sounds R-50 fanboy number 1, lol

No I don't find that rude and I didn't want to sound rude either aha! I just think you should compare to what you've heard not read!

They are same drivers but tuning and housing can effect sound dramtically!

I appreciate you loving them as I do certain items off my inventory! The thing is I know you have a good idea how sound compares too what your read but I've received earphones to be nothing like the any reviews! Tht being said in sure these are great and would love to try them somehow! If I was you however I'd defiently look at getting a DBA-02 MK1 to try and compare!

Ooh.. the R-50 does look promising, and thanks to you, piqued my interest. rolleyes.gif

I've also reviewed the GR01s, and mostly listened to them against the GR07. From reading my review, would you also think that how I'm describing GR01 is also similar to how you would describe the R-50? I'm quite curious. popcorn.gif

I thought about getting the DBA-02 MKII instead of the MK1 but theres other IEM's I would like to get first.
