Meh. I really didn't dislike driving the V6 Challenger. It was actually zippier than my big boat, and that V6 was putting out more power (less torque). I'd own it, but I like my car better.

Town Car. Hands down. Simply because historically speaking, Windsor and Mod are cheaper and easier to live with than Northstar. And if they're serious about doing a real six-figure car, and making a legitimate Lincoln again, it'll put to shame any Cadillac on the road (as Lincolns tend to do), at least as far as luxury is concerned. Sure the Cadillac is faster, but that isn't the point.

Yeah, just put the pipes on when it goes in to blow, and then take'em off when you get home. That said, our emissions standards are a joke - my ride "passed" with one of the pipes completely disconnected (I did not know it was off at the time, the car had been in my possession for less than 96 hours and you have to do emissions to get registration and plates) and they didn't even catch that on the "inspection." (They also will ignore engine/service lights and any other hazard that the engine throws - I'm pretty sure I could roll my old Mercury down there (it has a blown tranny, it won't leave 1, I'm just storing it for now) and the infocenter could pop up and display "Limp-Home Enabled - Check Transmission and Contact Service" and they'd probably "pass" that car (they passed it with a non-spec cat splice-welded into the pipe (it runs two cats, one of them failed about two years ago, they're $2400/ea from Ford as a bolt-on (that you can seriously do at home), but a friend of a friend put an aftermarket (legal) one on there for about a tenth of that (he actually did a nice job too, you could drop the entire pipe and remove the cats as per the Ford spec, but it's just the wrong actual cat in the center of the pipe; so at resale or whatever a new owner could have it serviced normally)- Ford won't touch that truck now, because there's torch marks all over the pipes and it technically should fail because it's non-standard, runs fine though)). So yeah, they're *really* dropping the ball I guess you could say. redface.gif

So do we, I brought a big 20lb Turducken to Thanksgiving last year and I'm going to do it again. I like it with spicy country sausage and cornbread stuffing, then served with garlic mashed potatoes, string beans, corn-on-the-cob, cranberry sauce, and fresh baked butterbread. Oooooh god... eek.gif I bake the smaller 3-4lb Turduken breast rolls during the rest of the year, and while not ungodly, they are great.

Oh yeah, I use that image a lot. biggrin.gif Al was pretty cool, for a demented, narcissistic, drug-abusing, sociopath. In terms of raw intellect, he was likely one of the brightest people of the 20th century, and his more mundane writings are surprisingly good. I have a couple of his personal journals (there are hundreds) and aside from them being murky in places, they're a lot of fun to read. He was a showman, as much as anything else, and he cultivated his dark persona as diligently as any modern day shock jock or heavy metal star. A lot of what people have read about him is true, but it's mostly self-promotion and building his reputation as "The Beast". If he were around today he'd be a lot like Howard Stern or Marilyn Manson.

YES!! You can buy them pre-made. You can order them online, or you can get them at some grocery stores. Sam's Club carries a good frozen one, and The Fresh Market (this awesome regional market chain) will make them to order, cooked or uncooked. I get the smaller turducken rolls at The Fresh Market too. They're fresh, wrapped in a baking bag, and ready to go. cool.gif I roast one about once a month.

OH, and the even bigger news, bigger than the turducken. With AAPL doing so well, and I've had some since 2010, I've decided that if it hits 775 by year end I'm going to buy something Italian and impractical. I'm seeing some good deals on 2-3 y/o 458s. Hmmm...smily_headphones1.gif

In California, you can show zero emissions out of the tailpipe, but if the "service engine" light is on in the dash, you will fail your smog check. I once had a vehicle that had a flaky transmission speed sensor that would occasionally throw a fault that made the service light come on. After a few hundred miles (when the computer had overwritten the old data), it would go back off again. I tried to get a smog check done when the service light was on - no go. I came back a week later when the light had gone back off and it passed. It's idiotic. If the lawmakers were ACTUALLY concerned with emissions (and not just with giving a source of revenue to the state and the auto repair industry) the ONLY thing that should matter is the emissions coming out of the tailpipe. If wrapping your tailpipe in magic magnets and unicorn hair made your emissions lower, fine you should pass.

And we have to do this dance every 2 years or when we sell the car...

Oh - and I worked for both Lockheed and Northrop (but not on the YF-23 and just peripherally on the B2). IMHO, there was no way the gov't was going to give both the B2 and ATF to Northrop. Northrop also had some other fairly large programs going where they were in competition with Lockheed and MacDac - and Northrop ultimately won those. McDonnell Douglas and General Dynamics were up to their eyeballs in the failed A-12. Boeing & Rcokwell were not seen as viable prime contractors for a tactical aircraft, and Grumman had never sold an aircraft to the Air Force and had zero stealth experience. I'm not saying Lockheed couldn't lose - but I do think they were in the best possible political position to win. Lockheed had the better team, and the final F-22 really is a great aircraft.
