if you are referring to the northrop YF-23, I think that has to be the coolest looking plane ever conceived.

They are cool, I'm more of a first gen guy, particularly '56 and '57s, but the C2 Stingray is a sweet car.
I have a neighbor who always seems to insult every car I drive, pointing out all its faults, and he's a Lexus owner. With the Rolls the faults are very obvious, but it's a Rolls, so who cares?

I'm not a miser, I just don't care for the expectation that I'll do something. It'll make me balk every time.
Well, you'd think, but I wrote her off immediately, she was seemingly out of my league, by my perception. I was seeing myself in a friend/mentor capacity, while at the same time she saw me as the confident older man who wouldn't go out with a crazy coed. We were completely looking past each other. She told me she probably would have went out with me, even if I was still just getting by as a teacher, so that's something. She just wouldn't have married me, or at least not that soon. Makes sense, getting married in college, or soon after, isn't a great idea because finances are a big concern.
I'd like to think people do that. The scholarship is still going, even though she's no longer the recipient. It's awarded to a struggling female grad student with the "largest cojones". The staff nominated who they felt deserved it and the two of us selected someone. The Mrs decided to carry it forward and it's a cool thing to do.

No kids for us, she's dead set against it and I've been fixed, so that's that. Suits me just fine.

I'd never heard of the Integrale, sounds interesting. A neat car you don't see much anymore is the Volkswagen Corrado, a friend had one with the SC'd I4. He changed the ECU, bored it out, and reworked the head. It made over 220hp at the wheels, it was quick and had great handling. One of the best hatches of all time. His was yellow, like this one.

I can say, with complete truthfulness, that is something I've not had to be concerned with. Bragging? Maybe just as little bit.

Actually - I worked on the YF-22, not the YF-23. So, naturally, I think the YF-23 was simply the LOSER....

Challenge Accepted.
First question: Who is William Butler Yeats? And why should I care?
Second question: Have you ever tried Red Bull?
Third question: When you say "800-900 level" do you mean post-graduate or remedial?

THIS IS LIKE THE BEST THREAD EVER! I save this thread for replies last so as to savor the posts here...
And trying to return to 0 ft successfully.

If you weren't aware, there IS a V6 Challenger. It isn't "fast" but it's "peppy" (and beyond your average econo-box that can shoot up to 40 mph quick-ish). It's got enough grunt to tear down the highway, but not enough that you have to hate yourself for doing it - I think they get like 25-30 mpg (if I'm not driving, when my bud handed me the keys the thing went to about 14 mpg on the dash and we were stopping within an hour for gas, but c'mon, country roads man - you're s'posed to go fast!).
Sure, but if.. it's just that... 8-cyl is more... Tell you what, I'll take a V6 over a V8 when you do.
Well look who's talking Mr. I drive 50 ft/day and only need gas every 17 years... But yeah, I do.
Nope. I mean it was her car and she could have done whatever she wanted. But I would have offered her more than that. She later told me that she didn't want me to have it because I'd wreck it. She was probably right.
Right.
Not as funny as The Jerk, but entertaining in it own right (and self-deprecating way).
Thank God for the Interwebz.
Wait, I don't get it. Oh wait, I see, You fixed that for him.
Why did she do that? The fuel crisis?
Your preferred link please?

Reminds me of a story I heard once about a guy who went out into nature, captured a bobcat, put it in a suitcase, and left it on the side of the road. He then proceeded to sit and watch people insane enough to come along and pick it up and open it trying to get some "free stuff" - that'll teach people to mess with things they shouldn't mess with!

Speaking of something only barely related to the above, there was this hilarious Israeli candid camera show a while back. Some dude would walk around the airport or train station or some other public place with a briefcase. He'd nonchalantly wander next to someone and set the briefcase down innocently. Then run. The reactions are first-rate comedy I assure you.

I think it's that Chrysler just went so far downhill starting in the 1980s and only recently has started to turn it around, and I will say that all of the modern (within the last two or so years) Chrysler cars that I've driven or ridden, I've liked quite a lot. But stuff from the 1980s or 1990s - gag me.
Wiki trip time...
Because they be mutha effin loud.
Pfft, SC it. Kidding...
Well, not all of them. But they did reach down the last one's throat and yank out its huevos.
So you weren't the loser then. Though from what I remember it was pretty close.
Grumman Switchblade is purdy darn cool too, though never made it out of concept. For me, the coolest plave ever is whatever the crap Darpa is working on now that we don't know about yet.
Assuming his name is something dickish like Sturgeon or something:
"Hey Sturgeon, I came across a study the other day that said 62% of Lexus owners suffer from pubic balding. What's up with that?"

Okay, but you thought about it a *little bit* yeah? Yeah. It's cool.

I'd like to think people do that. The scholarship is still going, even though she's no longer the recipient. It's awarded to a struggling female grad student with the "largest cojones". And fun I would think!
Hey, as long as you guys are in sync and happy, it's all good.

Okay then!
He's the guy that invented the concept of Bose-bashing.
Pfft, amateurs. Here's a pro tip:
Alternate between Jolly Ranchers, Turducken and Ginseng root every 20 minutes, all washed down with a shot of Jager every hour on the hour. Right around 3 hours in, you're gonna feel like anything is possible, and that you can take on the world.
Both.

Not sure if serious...
He was a Victorian poet and author, and the first Irishman to win the Nobel prize for literature. The lecture focuses on his philosophical views and spiritual pursuits. I'm broadening it to include his connections with noted occultists of that period (Crowley, Waite, Fortune, etc.), and their contributions to western literature, and how they influenced his work. Piece o' cake.Nah, this isn't tough, it's right in my wheelhouse and I could likely do it off the cuff, but I'd prefer to have a week or so of prep. My wife asked on behalf of one of her profs, and I couldn't say no. Yeah, it's for two post-grad courses, a one shot deal.

Aye.

When hell freezes over.

I don't drive often, but when I do, it's more than one to two miles. I drive maybe twice a week and the rest of the time my car just sits there and looks purdy.
But think of the awesome wreck stories!
Shame.

Yep.
She hated driving. I don't get how getting a compact Toyota helps with that versus a big luxurious boat, but whatever.

"six figure price point" - it's about time.

Sure that'd go over GREAT with TSA/DHS-FPS today.
Their main site seems down, shame. Was going to link.

So? I'm a big proponent of "straight from the header like NASCAR" anyways - if the windows (on buildings a ways away) aren't shaking, you're doing it wrong. Shame my neighbors made me put it back legal on my car (and the women of my family cracked down on my cousins and uncle to put their trucks back legal too - c'mon, the garage doors are MEANT to shake when you turn onto the street - lets people know you're coming!).
Also, while writing this I was looking for a good Magnum image, and Wikipedia rewarded me with this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_Fighter_(car)
British body, interior, build; American driveline, I really can't even begin to complain. Probably costs some hilarious King's ransom, but still. Magick - this should be your *next* toy.
Sure okay, the Viper, Venom (in.sane. vehicles these are), etc are faster, but that *looks* nicer.
lol. I actually forgot if he did YF-23 or YF-22, but lol still.

lol. Like the dog image.
Also lol @ Crowley. See how awake they are and ask if they can name one contemporary reference in pop-culture.

He can, but that's overdoing it bit for Yeats. I generally save the camel for Robert Burns lectures coinciding with Hogmanay.
