Oh yeah, some months back. They're... okay. Honestly, if I'd bought them from, say, Amazon, I might have sent them back. It did help to get some balanced cables and run them through the ECBA, they're pretty good there, but there are many, many headphones that I prefer over them.

If you look at my profile, I have most of my headphones listed, in order of general preference. If I'm not mistaken, they're ~10th place. Right now my bud Frank has them, along with my Magni/Modi combo, and really I'm not that itchy about when he gets them back to me, TBH.

I'll find her another, we've already located several that are about half of what that one was going for at the auction. Here's an awesome list, she's already checking on some of them.

Speaking of finding her another Nash...





It's on its way. Look how clean that is (I really dig the midnight blue), and only has 24k miles. Only $12k, whereas the one at the auction was 33k. rolleyes.gif

Okay, I've been ridiculed for not having IEMs (they usually hurt my ear canals), so I'm going to try some good ones. I like a balanced sound, not overly warm, and there's a budget of $500. What should I get?

Mini and SLR arrived this evening. We've got some goodies on order for both (RENNtech R1 perf package and locking LSD for the latter), so stay tuned for that. The rebuild of the Aventador V12 is done, so now we're going to finish buttoning her up and running new CF ducting for the turbos, replacing the clutch plates, installing a larger tranny fluid cooler, and a high flow Bosch fuel pump. Yabba-daba-do. cool.gif

Currently they only make two models, a clip-on that I know nothing about, and the Form2 (which they've apparently been making since the 1970s or 1980s), which I've found very mixed reviews on (they also seem to "come and go" from retail availability). Historically they made a few isodynamic/orthodynamic headphones iirc, among other things.

Yeah, I'd be interested in this as well.  I'm likewise on an IEM hunt these days.  And while I've got a good recommendation in terms of what I might enjoy, I'm also looking for something balanced and neutral... almost to a fault if that makes sense.

The reason she got into this is to blow by the old sods in their golf carts, that's what the codgers around here use for running around the neighborhood. This Spring she'll have a ball running around here in them.

I was reading the IEM comparo, and so far I have 3 candidates; the j-phonic K2 SPs, Westone 4s, and Sony MDR-EX1000s. They all seem to be well on the neutral side and have their own strengths and weaknesses. Right now I'm leaning towards the j-phonic or Westones.

Hmm, given your penchance for detail and separation, I think the j-phonic K2 SPs might be the best bet for you, whereas the Westone 4 would be my pick.  I would personally eschew the Complys for the olives if I got the j-phonics.  Never been a foam fan myself.

 

It's clear out of my price range (and I guess yours as well), but would you be interested in the Unique Melody Miracle at all?  The search key is 1A2.  It was the only one that scored a 10 in SQ.  Also, it's a custom so you'll have to visit to an audiologist.

They're like rolling beer cans. It's bad enough my wife wants to drive them, but the baby isn't going with until she's a good bit older. I feel a tad nervous taking her with me in any of the sports cars. I'll show pics of her new car seat when it arrives, it's a custom job made of carbon fiber, leather, and memory foam.
