Well isn't it only providing something like 1gpm or less nominally? Even in high consumption vehicles like that? Versus a garden-hose dropping something like 20-30gpm...

It claims to be "a great stress reliever". I concur.
Oh, the shop owner gave me 2 cartons of cigs and a case of the same Arizona tea, as a "thank you" for helping his son (nice, but hilarious, gesture). This would have all been a good deal less bloody if I'd worn my .357 (so agrees the deputy who took my statement). Turns out it was all over the store not accepting EBT as payment for goods (they're cash only). Seriously?

Seriously I'm proud of you for standing up for someone; had to re-read the post to realize you were only facing a single person and not two guys, which makes it less "scary" (I thought you took two guys out with two bottles, but instead you just royally worked one guy over) - from the perspective of fighting >1-1 odds being no-fun. But again, good job and I'm glad nobody got killed. And seriously wth - the guy is willing to take an AnB pop because they won't take his CC? Yeah, that's a totally reasonable reason to spend the next 3-5 in prison and be a labeled violent offender for the rest of your life.
On the upside, I don't think he'll need to worry about nobody taking his CC after he gets out, given that employment that could sustain that kind of thing will be hard to come-by.
As far as you getting sued, if the shop owner doesn't go that route, I'd say it's unlikely - you're probably more likely to be called as a witness when this champ gets out of the hospital so he can go to his sentencing hearing.

Question of the day though - given that this chump didn't seem to care that he was on camera, that there were witnesses, etc while he was committing his AnB, do you think this would've ended peacefully if you *had* drawn a lethal weapon? Something tells me it wouldn'tve stopped until you put him down, one way or another.

Oh and +yeah to glass bottles being pretty robust - they do not break like in the movies when you nail someone in the head with them. The only thing I'd say "be thankful" for is that you got one of the glass ones, and not the newer PET ones.

I hate bullies and the cashier is probably every bit of 5' 5", ~18-19 y/o. The assailant was over 6', burly guy. It was just messed up and all happened in 30 seconds. The kick wasn't enough, he was coming after me, fortunately the bottles were there at the checkout (and I grabbed one of those instead of the stout wooden Indian statue sitting next to them). Bad cut, concussion, broken ribs... I'd say he'll be hurting for weeks.
Yeah, they wouldn't accept his EBT to pay for cigs, that's reason enough to go to county for a year. Right?

Makes sense to...oh wait, no, that makes no sense.
And it's only a year there? I mean, we're probably talking AnB with intent (that cannot be lower than what? a class 3?) and the attempted robbery, plus anything directed at you (I'm sure you could press charges there as well). Oh and this assumes the guy was sober* when they booked him - if he was loaded that will escalate further.
That looks a lot bigger than a year, at least on paper. And it'll follow him longer than that. But seriously if you're nuts enough to go off like that over some smokes - good grief. Yeah - like you said, a ~$7 pack of smokes is totally good enough to throw away whatever is left of your life.* Its probably safe to assume he was sober or at least not loaded up on stims or PCP, given that you were able to take him down without lethal force.

I have said this many times, and I'll say it again: Our species is doomed. That piece of gene pool sludge shouldn't be considered part of H. sapiens.

I'm getting cigs for the wife today and I walk into the tobacco store. As I go in I see the cashier being dragged across the counter and pummeled about the head and neck (both people are males). The cashier was smaller and unable to defend himself, I'm in poor condition due to my physical limitations, so I yell telling the attacker to stop. I'm ignored. By this time the guy had completely dragged the cashier on to the floor and was still punching him and blood was pouring from the poor guy's face. I'm wearing steel-toed boots, and the bigger guy is bent over the other, ignoring me, so I kick the big dude in the ribs. Hard. That got his attention. He then turns on me, but I find a large bottle of tea (one of those huge Arizona tea bottles) on the counter and decide that he'd look better wearing it. That put him out of it. You know, those bottles are impressive, I gave him a good whack and it mostly held together. I grabbed another and called 911, in 2 minutes the po-po arrived. The little guy was pretty messed up, conscious but barely, same for the big guy (who has broken ribs and will need many stitches in his scalp). Both went to the hospital in an ambulance, I was questioned and released. I wonder if I'll be sued? At least it was all recorded.

Wow..thats real bravery, and I'm glad the assailant didn't have a weapon on him.
But I'm most impressed with the generosity of people in the US (well, mostly, unless you venture into the wrong area), and during my stay there, I felt embarrassed sometimes that I wasn't as helpful to people as they were to me.
If something like this were to happen in Asia, most would just stand and watch.

I definitely would have called police, but given the description of the assailant, I most likely would have been too chickenschiit to try and intervene myself. I guess there's no way of knowing for sure without actually being in the situation though.

Ofcourse, not everyone is brave enough, and quick witted.
But then, most of my life I've spent in Asia, so I'm just stating what I see here. The police is also ineffective in most countries here, and considered a hassle in many, because the caller gets involved in all kinds of trouble.

Even harder to decide if the assailant is carrying a weapon etc.

On the other hand, if that was a food card, then he was trying to get the clerk to commit welfare fraud - and in addition to heading to jail for A&B, he could also find himself in big trouble with the state.
Golly, he might actually need to get... *gasp* ... a job!
