What about an Excalibur? It'd be under 100k (unless you want a limo or a specifically collectible model (and I don't know enough about Excalibur to know what makes some of them >$100k)), and it'd certainly be an "occasion" to take it out:
Others that'd come to mind include a 1G Thunderbird, a 3-5G Continental, a 6-10G Series 70, a 3-6G Eldorado, a 3G DeVille coupe or drophead, and perhaps (these are dramatic departures, stylistically), the Allante or DMC-12 could be considered as well (I figured the 1980s should be represented by more than the Excalibur, and while the '89 Town Car Cartier is a beautiful vehicle, they lack the panache of the '76 Continental TC or similar).
Something more modern and formal, and the Corniche isn't really in the right area, I see it as a top down Summertime cruiser. The nice thing about the Cont GT is that they haven't changed in 9 years, so an older car that's been well cared for looks very similar to a brand new one. There's a nice steel grey `07 Mansory for $80k locally, and it looks good. The place selling it is the same that sold us the Vanquish and 360, so I can probably talk him down a good bit.

However, given the possibility of a very expensive purchase in the near future, the plans for this type of car may be going to the back burner for a while.

I wouldn't say that I am either, except that I have heard some rather pronounced changes in one pair of cans that I've got. Unfortunately for me, it sounded worse after having been burned-in (at least according to my tastes).
I believe I heard changes in the SR-009s and maybe a couple others, but it's hardly a night & day difference. The TH600s haven't changed a bit, but that's good because I really like them.

No kidding, I see they're still drinking absinthe at Lambo HQ.
