Miserable vehicle that it is, I've always had a soft spot for the 8. The local school has one out back as a shell. Rolled over or had something big dropped on the roof. Be interesting to drop in a modern powerplant . The former Merc Canada service guy used to race one back in the day.

On the subject of miserable Britcars, bloody Stag went by today. Pristine condition in 70's BL beige. Darn site better shape than the Esprit with the beat rear end draggin on the ground or for godsake, the Countach last week with the most faded red paint I've ever seen. Seems some of the exotica round here did not weather the winter well.

OK, I think Hydrogen fuel cells could be the future for power generation - but for gawd's sake, why does the first vehicle have to come from the maker of the Prius?? The auto industry is letting Toyota establish the baseline standard - and that means the standard will be another huge pile of boring. We could have had Hydrogen fuel cell cars 20 years ago - and today, Hydrogen should be available at every fuel stop. The article comparing the Toyota H-car with a Tesla is ridiculous, I'm not sure where the author was going with that idea. If the comments below the article is any indication, there seems to be an active community of EV shills bad-mouthing fuel cells. I don't think they are presenting all the facts about Hydrogen generation accurately, nor are the comparisons they make to electrical power generation entirely valid. For example, they will assume that H-generation is done in the most inefficient manner, while at the same time assuming that electrical power generation is done in the optimally green manner. Me thinks they doth protest too much...

I'm all for the adoption of hydrogen FCVs, but the public's attention has been so focused on Tesla and the electric industry lately that there's even less interest in establishing hydrogen infrastructure now than there was five to ten years ago with the Honda FCX Clarity.

Don't ever, ever sell your car without getting it cleared with the wife. The guy who sold the 400GT did that, and now he has to deal with it. Yesterday he called up the garage, I'd given him a business card, all in a lather and wanted to buy back the car. The problem was; 1. I'd already went to the clerk and paid for TTT, ordered new bits for a few upgrades, and put on new Summer meat, all to the tune of almost $6000. 2. I don't want to sell it back, because I really like it. So I told him if he comes up with $28,000 he can have it back, which made him angry, but I'm the one with the signed and notarized title. It's not my job to check with his wife to see if it's okay for him to sell a car that's in his name. Then he said something silly like, "well, I'll come down there and we'll talk about it". What does that even mean? He's going to invade the garage and kick my ass? I just told him that my schedule is full for the next couple weeks, but he could speak with my PR director (Frank). Also, never start a conversation with, "You need to give me xxxxx back". rolleyes.gif *I* don't need to do anything of the sort.

Ah tell him it's his big chance to upgrade to a 400i and being the sport you are you'll have your people find him one;)

It would be, because I'm not letting him have the car back. The generous $28k offer is now off the table.

Beverly Hills Car Club seems to specialize in rust-bucket wrecks. It looks like that 400i is sitting down on it's rear haunches - the self-leveling rear suspension could be shot.

They also sell this one... rolleyes.gif

Hey it's only 5 grand. The Isabella is absolutely gorgeous. That car is worth the resto it needs.

The point being 400 and 412i's arent as uncommon as their reputation would have you think. The guy can satisfy the wife quite easily.

Something tells me that guy has other issues "satisfying the wife"... tongue.gif

The Isabella is one of those cars that you remember seeing in person for the first time. They sometimes come off as ungainly in photos, but they're absolutely stunning in the flesh. I saw my first example at Museum Prototyp in Hamburg, and I've made a point of seeking them out at Concours events ever since.

Sure have. I simply have no use for them whatsoever.
