What exactly does modified for enhanced useability mean?

If the price on that Fiat is anything to go by the 959 must be in the mesosphere.:D

It's more than 25 years old now and my state doesn't care about modifications, so nothing like that required.

Bill Gates got in trouble but since now it might classify as a classic car or a club permit so it should be alright.

Its age makes it exempt, so no issues there. After a little searching I found one (an `89 959 Sport) at a dealer in the UK with 40k more kms on it but for substantially less money. I fired off an email to inquire about it and the sales rep called back in 15 minutes. This one has been modified too, that seems to be standard with these, and also comes with all the original parts.

and they have one of these

then he starts talking about how they're on consignment from the same seller and how he could work a package deal and... I need to not talk with him again.

Today was yet another unsuccessful day of car bargain hunting. I have made another observation: Every car dealer has one cheap Saturn Ion in their used car inventory. I think there might be an opportunity there - I should probably buy all of them and cut them up into spare parts. Those parts might be worth some money some day... tongue.gif

I'm still looking for my son's car, so just about anything under $7000USD is worth a look. Ideally, it will be 2005 or newer and under 100K miles. Probably something in the class of a Ford Focus, Honda Civic, etc. Yesterday we saw a 2009 Kia Rio with 90K miles. They were asking $8K, but immediately dropped to $7K before we even had the car unlocked. It would have been fine - except it was the stripped-down base model - didn't even have power windows & locks. Even at $7K it was overpriced - dealer retail is ~$6500, and I wouldn't pay more than $6K for it. I passed on it - it wasn't worth the haggle. I've seen better cars for less money.

My son's most recent line: "I want a color that can be found in a box of crayons - and not the 64 box, the 8 box."

I love that, very unique. What do you want to bet that's 300lbs of Bondo under there? biggrin.gif

Forgot to mention earlier, it appears that someone has abandoned an `01 Viper GTS at the shop. We did major upgrades to the suspension, brakes, axle/diff, engine, & tranny, to the tune of nearly $30k, and the owner has disappeared, *poof*. It's been 58 days now without word from him, after he was sent the invoice and told via phone that it's ready. Not to say I really wanted a Viper, but if I did it would be a G2 GTS because they're just mean and nasty, which is exactly the way you want a Viper to be.

Great, Ford Fusion. Thats the car that hit me:rolleyes:

Abandoned as in skipped town and left no trace, or just avoiding the bill?

I've not hired a PI to find him, but we've left numerous messages and sent 2 notices in the mail. He has until Wed and it's mine, we're tired of this place being a storage lot for deadbeat car owners. That's going to stop.

I think the Fusion would be fine, and they're priced right and get decent economy.

Don't blame you on repoing the car. That can get tired very quickly. Particularly when you take into account the money you could have made working on a paying customers car.

As my only experience with the Fusion is on the receiving end, I'll take your word for it.
