The Reeperbahn is an odd place to have the offices of a real office. It's mostly populated by wannabe actresses gone sour...

It amazes me that any unsold cars would be left anywhere near Hershey (if that's what you're hinting at). You'd have thought that swap-meet participants would have long found every undiscovered car within a hundred-mile radius.

Indeed. Just how long did he have to hunt to get that Marlboro ad into the background?

Those are in front of every convenience store in town. confused.gif I'm not even joking, at all.

I'm in PA because a man is parting out his car collection and invited me to come and check it out before the auctioneers get their hands on it. Also there's the chocolate, which was awesome. They make so many different kinds, and it's so much better when it hasn't sat in a warehouse or on a shelf for months. Cook it, stamp it, let it cool, then eat it. Wow, wow, wow... eek.gif

Sorry for being the ignorant left coaster - but I'm getting the sense that Hershey, PA is known for their car auctions? Is one of the big auction houses based there?

Based? No, but RM is having their big antique auction this weekend. It's mostly just old Packards and Chryslers, American lead sleds, from the 30s-50s, so I'm personally not very interested in it. It's just a coincidence.

We're back at the hotel, taking a break before heading back out. It's actually pretty fun, the antique cars are okay but the owners are even better. My little girl, who is all of 19 months, really enjoys throwing things. I had her on her tether while I was talking to this fella about his Tucker, well, while my back was turned Emma started throwing little rocks (smaller than a dime) at this other man's 30s Lincoln. It wasn't "concours condition", and she didn't do any actual damage, but that's still a bad thing. Anyway, I went and scooped her up and said, "No, no, that's bad, no, no". I could tell the owner wasn't too happy, so I apologized and told the man, "I'm not sure what's gotten into her, she's usually very fond of Fords. It's the Chevys that need to be careful around her". biggrin.gif Oh well, at least he didn't try to press charges.

That made me cringe, even as a member of the drive-it-to-hell camp.

I blame my wife, she's the one who taught her to throw rocks. It's nearly impossible for me to scold her (my daughter) because it hurts her feelings and makes her cry, and that breaks my heart. I'm such a big marshmallow and a failure as a parent. redface.gif

My Mom was famous for her: Stop your crying or I'll give you something to really cry about!

My Mom would occasionally reach for the Wooden Spoon, but her favorite was actually a fly swatter with a wire handle - exactly like this one:
