I agree! You gotta get it in race configuration, or be willing to make it into a Group 4!

Yeah, I love the red and blue stripes. smily_headphones1.gif

Koeniggseggiggegegg called today and was asking me about my experience with the car, I told them I really enjoy it, it's ridiculous amounts of fun (once we worked out some gearbox, clutch, and system niggles). It's one of my favorite cars (top 5). I just put CF/Alu HRE CF2 wheels on it, like the one this gentleman is effortlessly lifting (the difference in unsprung mass is enormous):

Anyhow, the lady went on, in a thick Scandinavian accent, about how she's wanted to extend to me an opportunity to "trade up" to a new Agera S. I then told her I don't want to trade, I prefer my car, mostly because it has a stick-shift manual. This boggled her mind, and she informed me that it was "ancient technology" and I'd "much prefer their new DC paddle system". Right. Getting annoyed at this point (because I've now had this discussion with them 3 times), I told her that I have absolutely no interest in their new cars, that my "old" car isn't up for sale or trade, and that I don't want them to upgrade or alter my current car in any way, shape, or form. I'm happy with it, and "I may even decide to be buried in it, if the mood strikes me and I put that stipulation in my will before I kick the bucket". I then added, "don't call us, we'll call you." Those people are thick. confused.gif

Speaking of new HREs, got them for the 599 too. Menacing:

"They see me rollin', they hatin'."

Are the HRE CF2 even lighter than Koenigsegg's own CF wheel? And also, any pics? I would really like to see how they look like on the 'Segg since very few put aftermarket wheels on them.

BTW, that's a badass 599! Love the red outer rim accent.

Hmmmmm so cars and music? This should be a perfect place to ask this then.  I don't know if any of you are RJD2 fans but he released a new album today (obviously not on the levels of his old stuff) but I was wondering if anyone here was crazy enough to identify the car on the album cover(You have pretty much only the steering wheel to go off of lol):

I'm assuming it's between 1975-1980s?

Yeah, rock on! The red line on the rims combined with the red calipers is very nice!

Of course, the pic would be better if there was a cloud of black smoke coming off those rear tires...

Thanks, I love how it turned out, we took off all the badging except the stallions on the fenders and Pininfarina on the skirt. It's super-evil-sexy.

File written by Adobe Photoshop? 4.0
"I would be proud to drive that car."

I didn't get CF wheels with the CCX, just the stock billet alu wheels, I didn't want to pay >$80k for them. The HREs were less than 1/3rd that price, the same weight, but 30% stronger.

Hmm - I'm having a problem trying to reconcile the door handle, which looks more like early 70s, with the seatbelts, which remind me more of the 80s or even 90s. I wonder if it's possibly a Photoshop composite?

Awesome! So the steering wheel told us it was a Buick.  That limited it down a ton to only buicks from that time period.... It's an 85 Buick electra park ave.  The seats, door handle and steering wheel all match:

Pretty ugly IMO but good trivial info to know about the album lol.

Every time you ever talk to Koenigsegg, they try to sell you that stupid Agera. You'd think that they're get a clue by now.

It's actually the same actress employed by McLaren, and Ferrari as well as a few other euro uber manufacturers. She just rolls through the customer lists trying to upsell . Her office is on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg.

Wait till she calls you from Skoda, her Czech accent will knock you stiff!

Yeah, she may be a worker for an agency, now that I think on it, but Koenigsegg has been particularly daft in dealing with me from the jump, so I have my doubts. lol

I did find this: http://www.autoblog.com/2013/09/30/koenigsegg-certified-pre-owned-program/ That tells me alot.
Quote:
"To be eligible for the pre-owned program, cars are, of course, thoroughly inspected by Koenigsegg, and are fully refurbished, bring them as close to factory condition as possible. Vehicles come with a two-year warranty and free service, if sold from an authorized dealer."

Essentially the same deal I got with mine, except I opted for a bunch of upgrades too.

Well, we're up early to head off to Pennsylvania to check out something, and visit Hershey (just because). I don't need a good reason to go get chocolate, but nearby is a different type of tasty morsel entirely (automotive related). biggrin.gif

From the seat belt & folding front seat, you also know that it is the 2 door coupe verson, not the 4 door sedan. That sets the year to 1985-1987
Quote:
The sixth generation Electras were initially offered in both 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan body styles but the 2-door coupe versions were eventually discontinued in 1986 (Electra 380) and 1987 (Electra Park Avenue).
