Minion find of the month. My, my, sweetheart, did someone forget you? Spyker C8 Turbo prototype in California, note the manufacturer test driver plates still on it. So sexy, with a Cosworth designed and built V8 twin-turbo in the back. Oh yeah... Happy Yes emoticon - happy-yes-smiley-emoticon.gif

Ooh! I haven't heard the name Spyker in a long time - you are right, I had completely forgotten about them. I'll bet that Cosworth sounds great!

Holy smokes! Is that thing even legal. Maybe not a good idea posting up pics here with the Cali crowd on board. Have you had a look at the title yet. This is a real curiosity is it realistically priced?

I would be glad to go and pick it up for Magick. I promise not to put more than 50K miles on it... tongue.gif

FYI - you can rent one (without the turbos) in San Diego for $1,450 per day. They have a bunch of other interesting rentals as well.

Theres one in TO up here that does a grand for 4 different cars for 8 hours. Trouble with that is it damn near takes your 2 hour limit to get out of the city:eek:

I'm guessing most of those rentals only go from the rental location to the restaurant/Conference Center/Class Reunion/etc and back.

Probably so. Or a quick trip up the main drag to pull some barely legal blonde Asian seatcover.

Legal? That's a good question. It was registered in Fla but had Cali manufacturer plates, which expired 4 years ago, and has been in storage for 3 years. Since it was once registered in the USA I believe I can get it registered again. The fact that it's here, and has been here for over 9 years, means a lot. I'm pretty sure my DMV won't bat an eye, I've taken them much more interesting things to register. Last time he had me key in the car info into their system to save him the hassle. I'm a nice guy, that way. smily_headphones1.gif

It's a Smart ForTwo Brabus Electric. Heh. Counting that we almost broke even on the night. Ugh. rolleyes.gif

Harrah's Atlantic City? What do you have to do to win a car there?

The perverse part of me really would like to flare that sucker out some and make a mini R5 Turbo type thingy out of it:veryevil:

Well, that fits with her other tiny cars, right? And that one won't have the horrid transmission of the regular Smart car, so it might actually not make you want to shoot yourself....lol.

No, Harrah's casino in Cherokee, North Carolina. She bought some tickets and won a drawing for the evening.

She drove it all the way back, which was 45 miles, with the lights, stereo, and heater on and it still had 1/3 of a charge left. It has a surprising amount of go too, for a shoebox. We'll just include it in her micro car collection.

Moar Power?

San Marino is near Pasadena - that's about 90 minutes from me on a typical traffic day.

Power? Eh. I drove it earlier today and it's torquey but I wouldn't call it fast. 0-60 in ~10s, maybe? That's good for what it is, and about twice as quick as the gasoline ForTwo, but it gets really unsettled at 70+ MPH. Definitely an urban commuter car. I guess one of the things you get with the Brabus edition is better seats, because I hear a lot of griping that the Smart seats are awful, but these aren't bad at all.
