I just don't know how a company that designed this:

made this:

I won't even show a picture of the AMX 3, it's unadulterated pornography. eek.gif

The AMX3 is available as a kit car known as the AMX390. The build quality does not look to great though. My preference was for the 2 anyhow.

The Javelin /AMX was always the stranger in the AMC corral. No one ever really knew where they came from and what obvious corporate oversight allowed them to be built. Thank god they finally got back on track with fashion statements like the Spirit and Eagle to carry them into the twilight years.

I used to see an AMC Eagle 4WD station wagon in town that had a snow plow grafted onto the front end....a real beauty that was! rolleyes.gif

It's pretty bad, we're looking for a good one, but may resort to doing our own. We were talking about modding the Pantera, but I hate chopping up a really nice Pantera.

Holy cow, that's cool. Now that's a real SUV. eek.gif

And the lights will break down on the 4th day, AC the fifth and engine starts marking its territory on the 10th.
Is this Rover a good idea Magick?

Funny looking at X3 I has always thought it was close to the Pantera in layout and design. Is your Pantera new or vintage? Perhaps there is a write off somewhere that would be a good candidate.

That Rover would make a terrific support and or recovery vehicle (as, through the miles I can actually feel you looking over at the Zonda as you read this)biggrin.gif

I thought it could make a great apocalypse vehicle, since it has a high-power winch and generator. I'll bet it could take a nasty tumble, or smash zombies, and be unscathed.

Ah, the wifes influence comes to sic (light). Been watching Russian Vampire films, have we?

The winch is U/S so says the ad. They cannot be that pricey to repair. Perhaps a custom rear cover (insulated is good).

Not really interested, TBT, it was mostly a curiosity. My mechanic pointed out that it would take $20k (in addition to the 23k asking) to get it back to full operation. For that much, there's a really nice low-miles H1 selling locally, I may try to get it.

It did not sound that out of shape, or are we taking into account the Land Rover pricing factor? Amazing how expensive that OLD's V8 got when Rover bought it. H1 is probably a better bet in the long term for maintenance concerns.

As an aside. May I ask what amp you drive the modded T50's with?

Yeah, RR parts for that are high, it's past its 100k mile service by a lot, without being done. That's going to be 15k right there, plus we're accounting for 5k to fix the winch and other misc odds and ends. It seems you don't just buy an old Rover, you buy all of its headaches too. The H1 is in great shape, it's just aging a little.

I drive the T50 with my ECBA or the Antelope ZG.

Are we talking about the episode that airs on BBC USA tonight, or are you teasing us with tidbits from something we won't get for another two weeks?
