I doubt he would send it back......it is a rare manual-shift model. He wants to be able to do this.......

The word that the car is coming back will swing the seller into action. There might be a lot of explaining to do by someone at the dealership.

Sending it back also creates a lot of paperwork for me. I'm being compensated, by both the dealer and the insurance, and we're fairly certain it can be barred and buffed out (it isn't through the clearcoat) and we were going to give it a 100% detail anyway. It's pretty obvious the carrier didn't have a hand in it, though how it could happen and the dealership not notice before shipping it is a complete mystery.

Yeah, it's the only black manual 599GTB w/ rosso interior (sort of my signature color combo) ever made, so I'm not letting go of it.

Like a lot of folks, I'm not crazy about the taillights, but there's no denying it's the sports car buy of the decade. The Z06, which I'm going to wait for, is going to be nuts. Guaranteed.

Maybe it's just a California attitude, but new 'Vette's have become an almost comic cliche' - a sign of a middle-aged divorcee or the pampered bimbo of an executive. The wife has a Bimmer, Mercedes or Lexus - but his goomah has a 'Vette.

I have wondered what James would own himself, not sure I would have guessed that one!

Well, in typical James May fashion, value has a lot to do with it (he's very cheap). When cornered, he said that if cost wasn't an issue he'd be "crazy not to choose the Ferrari", it's just the better supercar, and he's right, of course. Their conclusions are essentially correct; the Audi has the toys, price, and is most tuning-friendly, the McLaren is the fastest and overall best car to live with, and the 458 is the most fun (but fragile, temperamental, and impractical). However, "fragile, temperamental, and impractical" are the hallmarks of a great supercar. If you're a little sadistic and don't mind the horrible urban experience, you can use it as a DD, but that's not what it's for. It's most certainly a specialized "weekender" car.

No, it's not just Cali, the vette is a "Chick Car".

Name me some cars that even come close to the corvettes price/performance

No ZR1, then? Or do you plans of your own to take the Z06 up a notch?

Henessey already has performance packages in line for the c7 which will boost power up to 500/600/700/1000hp packages

1000 hp is useless if you never get your car back from Hennessey.
That is true...plus having that much hp on the street is pretty much useless. You could have much more fun in a less powerful car
