Yeah, that's where Porsche gets you, the options list. An $80k car can get to >110k faster than you can blink. This one has relatively few options but only 12k miles on it, and I still got it for 20% under list. That was pretty good, since new ones are backordered. Good call on avoiding that older Cayenne, you'd have the purchase price worth of repairs in the first year, if not more. Whoever buys that one won't be driving it for long.

There are others that are more expensive, like the Agera R, but the wankers aren't buying those, likely because they're not nearly so forgiving (and don't have as much bling). Rappers don't write songs about Koenigsegg or Pagani, and I'm glad of it.

Today, the three lanes were stuffed with the aforementioned Priuses and SUVs - AND those incredibly annoying local delivery panel trucks that are always in the middle or fast lanes because they are going 3 MPH faster than big semis and the landscaping pickups with the rakes and shovels tied to the sides of the stakebed. My GAWD - GTFOoMW!! So, my 60 mile commute that I can often do in 50 minutes (or less) was 90 minutes.

OK - I admit it - I drive too fast. Way too fast. I do not like going "the flow of traffic" - I like being in the front and pulling away. Being next to the same car for mile after mile makes me crazy. If you have been on the same road with me, you have probably flipped me off.

On the upside, I did see two interesting cars on the freeway today. One was a red Ferrari 360 and the other was a car that I don't think I have ever seen on the road before: a red Porsche 968 Cabriolet - which I have always thought was the Platypus of the Porsche family - combine all the parts of the Porsche models you don't like into one car - and you get a 968.

You need to get out of LA billy, that's all there is to it. wink.gif I'll bet that 360 driver was hating life, that's not a good traffic car, for many reasons. The primary being that they can and will overheat if the cooling system hasn't been modified.

Well, the deal didn't go on that Carrera GT, we couldn't meet on a price, but we worked out one for another. It has more miles, less features, but a better color. It should be on its way next week.

No, but it's almost the same livery. This is one of the last 3 of the regular F Roadsters.

At least, it's a very convincing one. The side scoops are identical to the Cinque and I spy a short roof air scoop normally found on the Cinque roadster.

Talking about Zondas, will the Revolucion be the absolute last of the Zonda breed?

It seems that Horacio loves the Zonda too much.

However, there were no set "this was with this, this was with that" each car was very unique and there were several changes as the F Roadster evolved. It ran for a long time and Pagani wasn't averse to just changing things in mid model, or even in the middle of building a specific car. He's a very eccentric fellow. There are stories of him running into the workshop and telling them all, "Stop, stop! Change this!" then all production halted until he had what he wanted.

I don't believe Pagani even intended to build this last Zonda, but someone wrote him a very big check.

I've read on pagani's  website that the revolucion is for sale...

 

Anyway, I'd be way more interested to see more variations on the Huayra. I'm no engineer, but It feels like everything has been said about the zonda. The Revolucion is basically a faster R with a DRS. 

 

BTW @ Magickman, How it is? How would you rate it against the F1?

Against the F1? I wouldn't rate it at all, they're completely different cars. Both are fast, and mid-engined, but that's where the similarities stop. The Zonda has a much softer ride, is more comfortable all around, really. It's just a much more relaxed car (servo asst brakes, power steering, sensible clutch) . The Zonda, very literally, could be a daily driver, with ease. The F1... not so much. It's my favorite car, but not for its creature comforts. Anyhow, I'll write up some thoughts about the Pagani after I've had more of a chance to drive and think on it.

We'll see the Huayra for at least a decade with many variations of it, never fear. I likely won't buy one, due to the flappy paddles, but they should be impressive.

Oh, something interesting, that intake "snorkel" (it's made of a single piece of CF) is removable, and I don't believe it is with the Cinque (it's shorter too). It's impressive looking but we can't see that it has a practical use in this application (other than keeping out rain), so we took it off and packed it away for safekeeping, since anyone fiddling around with it could probably remove it and it would be gone forever. The induction sound is better with it off anyway.

Isn't your F1 a different suspension than the F1 road car? I would think the race cars would feel completely different.

Nope, it was converted, I suppose. All I know is it's pretty firm, even after adjustment, but not so much that it's unbearable.
