Yep, and we'll be stripping it down to the frame and resto-modding it from scratch. Remember that Chevy 350 ZZ4 engine that came out of the Cali spider replica? We're dropping that in and adding an 8 psi Procharger, independent suspension, softer coils, and large disks all around.

Any plans for a silver paint job and a red interior?  You know, just to be like everybody else?

Another one bites the dust. For SCCA classic events, should be a lot of fun. Plus it's a Yenko and very collectible.

I declare the Maserati the winner of that battle. Those wussies couldn't even dent the hood!

My Dad & my brother built a dune buggy/sandrail out of a Corvair drivetrain and a VW front end with a welded tubular frame. We used it at the Pismo dunes during the 70s. That thing was great fun! The Corvair engine ran great - we never had a single problem with that engine - and we abused the hell out of it. We had 18" rims and paddle tires made by cutting grooves in old race slicks with a hot iron. The Corvair engine had dual carbs and big stinger exhaust - it was loud as hell!

No doubt! Go go Italians, whip those haters!

Ah man, what a ripoff! Dana Mecum told me I can't buy any more cars unless I also donate an additional 10% of the purchase to Curing Kids Cancer. eek.gif LOL biggrin.gif

Of course, it's a very good cause. smily_headphones1.gif I just enjoy giving the Mecum guys grief, we joke around with each other at every auction.

Interested to see what this goes for, I'd just as soon buy this one than go through the trouble of building my own. 1100hp w/ nitrous.

The rear-end of that Camaro must have been tubbed to accomodate those 15" wide rear wheels, right?

Oh yeah, frame modification/reinforcement too, to support that massive Dana posi rear end. I'm betting it can be tuned for E85 rather easily, bumping it to 820-830bhp. W/ nitrous, that car easily runs in the 9s.

I'll see what it gets to, that's essentially what I was planning with the one I just bought. I'm betting the seller wants >$100k for it.

No, really wasn't planning on that, we aren't really boat people (despite living next to a large lake). Looks neat, though.
