So I've been playing a game called Forza Horizon lately.  Turns out you can "decorate" the cars.  Well okay then...

The caption on the photo above was "Lamborghini in Vietnam".

(of course, no offense intended to our Vietnamese members)

I crossed it off my list, it feels and drives too much like an outrageously priced kit car.

I saw that on TWiT, funny stuff. Innovative kid to design and build it, though.

Need some small advice. We're planning to buy a new car, it's a 2013 Honda Jazz/Fit RS

It looks exactly like this:

Now the problem is the colour. Yesterday, I went to the Honda dealership and wanted to look at a Silverstone Metallic (grey) Jazz RS but they didn't have one. Instead they showed me an Alabaster Silver Metallic Jazz RS and I was quite surprised that it looked surprisingly good in that colour.

I asked for colour samples but they didn't have instead the sales woman showed me a Civic in grey. I know that on the Jazz it's quite a different grey but she said it's around the same hue. I was quite disappointed with the colour. The grey had this blue-ish tone on certain light conditions. When I want a dark grey, I really want it to be dark grey, gun metal grey like.

There are other colours but I wasn't deeply interested in.

The Deep Sapphire Blue is too dark for my taste, Rallye Red doesn't look particularly good, Brilliant White Pearl looks very nice but my friend has one on that colour so no, Crystal Black Pearl makes the car look small and Sunset Orange isn't really orange.

What do you think? Is silver the right colour?

BTW, I might change the wheels and tyres because I don't like the 10 spoke wheels on the 2013 model. I much prefer the 5 spoke on last year's model.

The reason I chose the Jazz RS is, well my friend convinced me but also because it's the only affordable car that can be considered as a "hot hatch" in Indonesia, it's also the most powerful in its class. If I wanted other real hot hatches like the Clio RS, DS3, 208 GTi, Golf GTI, Focus ST/RS, etc... the only way to do that is import one and suffer the 200-300% import tax, so that's a big no-no.

What about a Honda Brio?

Too small and it doesn't look good TBH. Also it has 30 less horsepowers than the Jazz and less tuning potential.

I will eventually tune the Jazz, not as extreme as my friend's Jazz but I will tune it more for refinement than pure power. The Jazz tuning scene in Indonesia is quite big so lots of resources.

Also, I often make the joke that it's actually called the Honda Brioche biggrin.gif

I think the silver looks fine... though I am a McLaren fan, so I'm biased.

Ahh, I see.

BTW, if you could have any car in roughly that class, without having to worry about tariffs, what would you choose?

I think it looks good in silver. Don't know if I'd call it a hot hatch, because of the low hp>weight ratio (the Brio is actually better in that respect, despite having less power, due to its lower curb weight), but if you can't get a Clio RS and are limited due to import tariffs, that's probably the way to go.

You're going to be excited, if the stars line up perfectly over the next couple weeks. wink.gif

I wouldn't call the Jazz a hot hatch either, at least in its American incarnation as the Fit (I don't know if it is the same overseas). It's an economy car that's decent on gas, has a ton of interior space in a not very big exterior, and is entertaining to drive, but a true hot hatch  would run away from it.

Very best,

Can you guys get the Cinquecento over there? The Abarth version isn't bad, despite what TG says.

P1?  Alternatively, Hamilton or Button is gonna come by and cut the ribbon on the new garage?

In the US yeah, and probably even more in Europe. Then again, maybe there's a chance that emissions control hasn't castrated the Jazz/Fit over there.

Heya,

They probably have diesel models over there.....I wonder how they would perform in comparison? My only personal experience with a diesel was the 1980 VW Rabbit that a friend had years ago.....that was well before their current TDI diesels were sold here, and it was slower than just about anything shy of an automatic transmission Chevette. (and what an epic race that was!)

Yeah, it's my mistake calling the Jazz a hot hatch. It isn't really but it has lots of potential waiting to be unlocked and a very potent 1.5L engine.

OK then, silver it is. Now I'm just thinking on what wheels will it look good on.
