I suspect I will, I think my last offer will be accepted, but Obob won't stop trying to change my mind. Fortunately, I'm a stubborn bastard (wouldn't be where I am if I wasn't). smily_headphones1.gif

It's a neat truck, and I think you're bang-on that it'd be fun to putter around in. It's also black and red...popcorn.gif

Good luck with speedbumps and potholes. tongue.gif (Seriously though, watch videos of trucks like these if you've never been in one).

Yeah, that's neat, but I have to agree with Obob, Rat Rods are very uncomfortable.

Mecum accepted my offer, so the little pickup is headed my way. *Dance of Joy* I like this kind of deal; they gripe about the price, I gripe about the price, and neither of us is really happy, so that lets me know that a fair price was negotiated on both sides. biggrin.gif I was also notified that I'm getting a "free gift", whatever that means. Hopefully someone didn't poo in the seat of one of the cars. wink.gif

My ears started to tingle when I saw these, I'd love to buy some HE-500s and do this:

Unfortunately they're made by Martin Custom Audio, and last year they wouldn't return my inquiries for Grado work (I posted about it in this thread), so I'm not going to waste my time to see if I could get something like this made. rolleyes.gif It's a shame, but I suppose some people don't like making money.

What if it was a copy of every Robin Williams movie ever made; would you still want the vehicle after it had been touched by that? basshead.gif

*sigh*

I also don't really dig the "all gloss all the time because gloss so you know it's wood because gloss" appearance. Grado and AT did it right the first time. redface.gif

Ewww, velour. Ewww. I prefer fabric seats over most leather interiors though, true. redface.gif

It's not too late - you can still turn the Ford into a Rat Rod Pickup - just spark-up the plasma cutter and start hacking... tongue.gif

I have a Mild dislike for Hennessy now. What an ungentlemanly person. What happened to sportsmanship? angry_face.gif Ohh wait I just remembered Im talking about a guy who sells the parts of the customers cars and Overcharge them for that privilege. tongue.gif

Aside from Hennessy being a supreme @sshat, it also goes back to our discussion of what exactly defines a supercar, and whether cars made by specialty builders like Hennessy really qualify as "production cars". What if there was an option to buy the Veyron Sport without a speed restrictor? Does that then make it OK? In theory, a custom car builder can make a car anyway the customer wants, or he can make every car unique and then sell them. He can then choose his fastest version and make 50 of them and they qualify as a "production car". I suppose Bugatti could do the same - but that isn't normally what we consider the production car process. We imagine the engineers making design decisions, then finally getting the green-light, and production starts on a the run of cars. That just doesn't seem like the same thing at all.

But most people would still rather drive the Veyron, it's become an international icon, while Hennessy is just a blip on the radar for most countries. It probably won't take long for Bugatti Volkswagon to regain that title if they wish.
