In a straight line it's a monster, but they refuse to run it on Laguna Seca or the Nurburgring, let along somewhere really demanding, like 24hrs of LeMans. The impression I get is that it's strung out within an inch of its life and cobbled together with wire, gaffer tape, and hope. Knowing how disreputable John Hennessy is, I'd be terrified at the corners he'd cut in a supposed hypercar. They want me to go out, on a track, and do >200mph in a car that moron designed? No thanks, not even if they were giving it away and paying me. eek.gif

Bugatti, Ferrari, McLaren, Koenigsegg, and Lamborghini test their cars mercilessly, pushing them until they break, that's one reason they cost so much, the testing and design is very expensive, it's knowledge and wisdom that's hard-earned through decades of trial and error (and often in real race experience). A $1.5M car that's built in a shed, in Texas, by a convicted felon? No thank you. wink.gif

I heard somewhere that he was a bit of a shady character, but no details.  Yet I've only heard good things about the Lingenfelter shop.

One of the greatest TV shows of all time is gonna be a movie, sign up and help them, and get free swag to boot! I signed up earlier, and I guess we (my wife and I) are going to fly out for the premier and hobnobbing with Kristin Bell and others, that should be a lot of fun. biggrin.gif

Sign up and at least get a T-shirt or something.

Yeah, I hear ya.  I'm now locked in a three-way deathmatch in my search for a reference IEM.  It's between the Ety ER-4PT, Westone 4, and UE900.  Like you, I'm eschewing customs right now, so the UERM isn't a consideration at the moment.

Indeed. I'm not sure when, likely in a year or so, but it'll be whenever the movie is finished.

I'm thinking about a really big surprise for my wife, beyond her B-day. She loves Great Britain, so I'm working on a deal to buy a house there on the SE shore of Loch Ness. No joke. Even more interesting, it's Boleskine House, the former home of Aleister Crowley (and Jimmy Page). It came up on the market this month, and the price isn't terrifying, so I called and they're working out the details now. I'm very, very stoked. cool.gif It comes with the house, carriage house (where the caretaker lives), stables (no livestock), and 22 acres. It's largely a museum of sorts, but they haven't been able to get it to work out, financially. It's claimed to be quite haunted, and given its history, I'd be disappointed if it wasn't. Then there's Nessy, can't wait to go looking for her. wink.gif

Will be a great Summer house, and there's an airport and town just a few miles away.

Nah, but a house in GB would be nice, and maybe Argentina (Buenos Aries is awesome) and New Zealand... but that's all, really. Oh, I left out Monaco.

First of all, DAYAM!

This is actually very nice. A little more than I was wanting to spend, but looks like quite a lot for the money.

The point of Monaco is partially taxes, Italy is harsh on property tax.

You sure it doesn't have anything to do with the Gran Prix?  I wouldn't be surprised if the house you picked out had a view of it.  wink.gif

That too, and the beach, and casinos. It's an incredible place. (And warm, which is a big plus.)

Hahahaha.

But seriously, +1.

I like the British house, at least the pictures of the property.

Did you think of Dubrovnik? I've been there a few years ago, a fantastic place...

It's furnished too, and they've left a lot of Crowley's "artistic" touches intact. That's outrageously awesome. My only real issue is the loonies that could come around, looking to "commune" with the Beast.

I'm not sure about a house in Croatia, Monaco appears to be a bit more friendly towards foreigners buying property there.
