Then later you're thinking, "I love her, I trust her, buuuuut." Luckily, I've found that she's quite paranoid about overspending. Much more so than me, for instance.
Alright then, 4 coats of US Racing Blue (with pearl finish added), 2 coats of clear, white "champion" stripes, some re-chrome, a little body work (thanks to a dumba** shop assistant), and...

A few interior touches left to go.

That is a beauty.....

Didn't I vote for blue and white as the only option for any Cobra ever made? If not I meant to. Forgot to also add I grew up around these cars - I've seen all sorts of permutations of how they can be painted, they ALL fall short of blue and white. Now it doesn't have to be US Racing Blue with a pearl finish, it can be flatter, like this:

There should be a law somewhere that says a Cobra must be blue with white stripes, just like GTs need to be blue with an orange stripe. I've never seen another permutation that I've remotely liked as much. Silver and black (on either) comes close, but still.

That blue is simply incredible - and that's just from a picture - I would imagine in person it is 50 times better!

Thanks all. I'm having second thoughts about decals and numbers, covering up that paint. We had an idea, though, I can perhaps print out and attach thin magnet copies of the decals, since the body shell has a steel mesh running through it. They might stick well enough.

I've not seen it in person yet, but I'm going tomorrow to check it out.

Pffft - I don't care if it is painted like a character from one of Emma's Dr. Seuss books - it would still be a beautiful car.

Well, I've seen them in pink and purple, and they didn't do much for me. biggrin.gif

The weather sucks, but I ran out and saw the Cobra. Richard isn't a mechanic, he's an artist. The man's bodywork and painting skills are extraordinary, the paint has a depth to it like a hologram. I left it there, though, it's cold as **** and raining so I'm on Emma watching duty tonight, as everyone else is out shopping. rolleyes.gif

Something tells me that you don't mind that.  smile.gif  You should introduce her to headphones when the Mrs. ain't looking.  Emma, these are "cans"...

What amp sounds best with the tiger phones?

They have good mids, but the treble is severely rolled off and there's very little in the way of bass. In other words, it's perfect for a little kid. The player is perfect; big buttons, lockable volume, super light weight, and drool resistant.
