I am impressed by your review. Just ordered these with the DT770 Pads.
 
Thanks. Exactly what I was looking for. Coming from a PRO 900>D2000>M100
 
Was looking for BASS and clarity in the rest of the spectrum. My favorite Headphones were the D2000's but the ones I received had uneven pads which resulted in a unbalanced sound. Returned them. could never buy them again because they were by that time discontinued.

Just picked these up at Tom Lee's music. They are on Clearance for $99. I just walked down to the store this morning.
 
can you imagine the excitement on my face when I found this? I canceled my Amazon order right away.

That is a heckuva deal.  Worth way more than even the usual price.  Good for you!

Yessss Celebrating with some good beer and good music. Damn these things are great. I've spent much more on headphones...now I'm wondering what was the point?
 
Love these Diamond-in-the-rough headphones...They don't even specialize in headphones? how did they make something so awesome on the first try? Engineering brilliance.

Anybody heared both Sennheiser HD380 and the Q40? From the description the Senny's seem like a brother of M-Audio - strong subbass (although HD380 has no peak in the midbass) and smooth treble. Only the mids are a bit unclear to me. In what aspects is the Q40 better then the HD380?

Swapping pads is simple on these.  Just literally pull the stockers off and the new ones go on very easily.  No adhesive, just pulling the pad over the pad holder and work your way around.
