Hifiman HM-601 slim good?

Hello guys

I am planning to buy a E9+E7 Amp/Dac combo.
But I have been thinking about if it would be smart to buy a good portable player for portable use (instead of my iPhone)

If I bought the HM-601 would it be overkill to get the E7 with it when I am studying/travelling?

What do you guys think?

Do you mean that you would use the E7 on the go with the HiFiMan, and the E9 when you're at home? What are you looking to do? And a quick search of the forum will turn up a lot of information for you.

 

I use the HiFiMan all by its lonesome, as I think that most people are crazy to carry around all that they do, but that's just me.

I want to use E7 with the player. And use E7+E9 when at home.

I think most people get the HM-601 for it's DAC, and it's pretty powerful for a DAP.

No point using the E7 - no digital out on the 601 and the DAC and Amp in the 601 are better to my ears.

I use a 601 line out into a Graham Slee Voyager - sounds incredible.
