I decided to consolidate my (2) 32gb SD cards onto one SanDisk 64gb SDXC card which I purchased at a good price from Amazon. It was not the same model as mentioned by Charles in the Tera-Player FAQ, but I figured it wouldn't really matter after I reformatted it to FAT32 from the exFAT native format. Unfortunately, my computer would not even recognize the SDXC card and my XP laptop, while recognizing the card, did not offer the option of reformatting to FAT. I also had the Panasonic SD Formatter utility, but it also did not offer the option of reformatting to FAT32.

This seems to be a problem with all SDXC cards but I did find a simple solution. HP offers a very small card-formatting utility called "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool" that works perfectly to reformat SDXC cards to the SDHC Fat32 format. After reformatting, my computer immediately recognized the card and I was able to copy all of my WAV files to the card. As the card was a "10", copy times were quite speedy.

You can find this formatting utility here.

Just keep in mind that once you have reformatted an SDXC card to FAT32, you are limited to 4gb file size, which in the case of music files is not an issue.

Me and Apmusson we met and treid the Tera Player with Westone W4R and YP1. Both are reall nice and the W4R had more detailes, and as far as i remember when i had the DX100 is on the same level but i can say 5-10% better in everything in a much smaller package.

Also he liked how my Nokia 808 drive the Westone, and that was with mp3 files 320 kbps, and compared with Clip+ with Flac the sound was more powerful, natural. He may want to explain what he liked, but i am glad the Tera Player V0 and Westone 4R and a very good match. TP is much much nicer and smaller in reality then in the photos.Very happy with the simplicity and size.

Anybody here have the V1? I heard the V0 with my W4R and it sounded wonderfull.Shall i choose V1 for IEM and keep the volume on low or just go for V0?

Many thanks to all.

Not many people have the V1. It's really only needed if you are using something really power hungry. With W4R's you shouldn't be having a problem with the V0 to justify taking a chance with the V1, it's slightly more uncharted territory. Try asking Charles, I bet he'll know which would be best for your usage.

Thanks, I may go for V0 then anyway.I really like the  Tera Player and is very easy to use and the SQ is the best I've heard. This is all I need, and Fiio X3 when will come out.ha ha

Glad you figured out what you want. Even if that ended up being something besides the Tera at least you understand what we owners keep raving about.

Hi musicday,

I'm also a happy TP owner.

After reading this forum and reading posts from kenman345, Tera-Fi, HiFlight, smial1966 and other people's experiences with TP, I decided to buy one in October and have never been so happy.

From my experience the best e-mail address to contact Charles is the second email address he has listed on his website.

I also had the same problem initially contacting him, however when using the second e-mail address he answered very promptly.

He does accept Paypal as a payment method.

Hi musicday,

I am located in Australia.

I certainly don't consider myself an Audio expert. Just someone who wanted great sound from a portable device.

When I decided to buy a player, my search brought me to Head-Fi.

In my initial search, I quickly discounted the TP because like many people I thought it was crazy to spend 840 euros on a device with no display.

I purchased both the DX100 and Colorfly C4.

Both had great sound however I prefered the DX100 out of the two. I sold the Colorfly C4 and decided to spend time getting profficient with the DX100.

The DX100 has great sound.

I was just really dissapointed about a few things.

I really loved the album covers but found I didn't like the UI as a whole. It was slow and was fustrating. I also didn't like the fact that it was quite large and got quite hot, not to mention the battery life which wasn't great.

The DX100 is a great device with lots of potential, and in some ways I wish I had kept it, however, it didn't suit my needs so I decided to sell it.

When searching for a high end music player, the TP was being mentioned a lot. I decided to do more research and read all the articles from Charles on his website which impressed me.

I also read this forum from beginning to end a few times. People who purchased the player seemed to be very happy with it and comments from HighFlight, kenman345, Tera-Fi, vert and smial1966 to name a few,  gave me confidence to buy it.

My purchasing experience was very positive with Charles. He provided answers to all my questions very promptly.

The player certainly met all my expectations and needs and I have been very very happy with it.

I took HiFlight's advice (reading this forum) and purchased the Audeo PFE-232 Earphones and have been very happy with the pairing.

I also have Westone 4's which I am also happy with but prefer the Audeo PFE-232 which is what I use daily.

I'm not the right person to  compare SQ with different headphones as I am in no way an audio expert.

I can only give you my impressions which is that the TP is the best sounding player I have heard and that it suited my needs perfectly.

The DX100 would be a very close second but I just couldn't get over it's liabilities.

I hope this helps you a little.

Nice comparison? So which firmware did you have on the DX100 when you got rid of it? That really makes me interested if you found it to be a very close second. More so I want to know what firmware you had on it at the time when selling it. How long ago did you sell it?
