More than that is not allowed !!!

Just a couple femto-bliss more and this universe could easily collapse ... we don't want that to happen ...

Charles :)

Charles are you gonna be having any holiday sales on this little gem? ;)...

If I had known I would have ordered the R2D2 version...maybe with the pink fur also wink.gif   But since I just heard that my regular Tera just shipped, I will have to make do. Now I am waiting for the Post Office to make my day.

This isn`t funny.

And I don`t understand why Charles doesn`t want to publish industry standart audio measurements of Tera player in its Manual like all manufacturers DAPs are doing.

Are you afraid to show its results to potential buyers (like me)???

If anything he's afraid the wrong impression will be given. The Tera Player isn't about comparing measurements. No one is gonna buy the Tera Player just having seen measurements. They're gonna find out impressions and that's where most of your knowledge of how the player sounds will come from if you havent heard it. If not having measurements is a deal breaker, then don't buy it, that's all their is to it.

And BTW, it actually is quite funny.

You tell 'em FALEEV! There's no room for brevity where audiophilia reigns supreme! ;)

Agreed, Charles made the decision to sell the Tera based only on its SOUND; specifications were deemed to be irrelevant and unnecessary.

When it comes down to it i think most buyers have at least been aware of his blog post about it's development and if you're an audio purist this is the device. Nothing more and nothing less than exactly what it needs to do one hell of a job at delivering sweet music to your ears for hours on end. Whether people believe me is their own problem, I have been enjoying my Tera Player for months now and will continue to do so even if it were to be measured and be the worst thing ever measured, which doesn't seem all that likely.

So i really think u`re right.

I guess my question is that if you are so pleased with your Clip+ and Fiio, why all the interest in the fact that there are no published specifications for the Tera-Player????

Well the photo made me laugh! L3000.gif

What is suspicious about all these measurement obsessives is that they bang on about RMAA and other whatnot, yet when Tera Player  owners have offered to meet up with them for a demonstration, they are either too busy, can't be bothered or disappear from the thread only to resurface later spouting on about flaming measurements yet again!

Charles intimated that there are Tera Player owners in Moscow, so FALEEV why not PM him and ask whether he'd mind putting you in contact with them. As I'm sure that at least one Muscovite would be willing to let you audition their Tera Player.

Cheers,

Andy.

I see absolutely no point in comparing the terra with an EQ'd clip or any other player.

The main reason being is that each player compared MUST be compared with no EQ so as to reveal the true sonic nature of the product, the clip is already a fail by your requirements as you feel it needs to be equed to sound up to or beyond the terra.

By all means compare the terra with an un-EQ'd clip, that would be a fair comparison.

This brings to mind the nonsense a few years ago about how great the Cowons were in comparison to anything else.. They had all been EQ'd to death to get those results, to me that is a ridiculous comparison. Heck. On that premis I could shove some electronics into a bean can with lots of EQ options and take on anything!

Of course what all this nonsense our friend from Moscow is spouting is the nonsense that has been the Bain of this forum for years, tiny people with big egos!

For what it's worth it has been my experience after spending much money believing all the nonsense spouted by people like that here that though a cheap product may perform well I have yet to see a true giant killer amongst them. I have heard significantly better sounds come out of my blackbird than I ever did with my PAV2, that is not to denigrate that lovely little amp, for it's price it performs well but it ain't no blackbird!

Seems to me what one has with this player is something lacking hyperbole or bold statements, it just plays music beautifully and surely that is all that matters, I could not give a fig about measurements. Heck, I am sure if someone measured my piano fortes they would be terrible, same with my new tube amp but who cares, they play and convey music sublimely and in truth that is the desired end result!

I can attest to this, having had a few Cowons. Even my current one doesn't stand out from the pack at all with all of the various tweaks disabled, but  with careful tweaking I can get very pleasing sound from it. With all that stuff turned off, it pales in comparison to my Wolfson-chipped iPod 5.5G.

I'd go insane having to constantly use EQ lol. I'm more so the "set it and forget it" type of person. Otherwise I'll be constantly changing EQ presets instead of listening to music lol :P.

Regarding EQ though, you can polish a turd but in the end it is still just a shiny piece of ****.

It's simple enough...I have custom settings saved for three different headphones on it. No need to constantly change things, and I never use presets....lol.

One custom preset never did the trick for me using EQ. Maybe on certain genres it would sound right then on others just off..
