Eager to see what you find out,

That'd be where I went wrong then!  Didn't even give mono beaing a problem a thought, it defaults to that.

That translation is terrible, I have no idea what they're talking about biggrin.gif That doesn't make the graphs any less useful though, so thanks for the link.  Now if the C3 was clever I would be measuring it, but I left it paused for 17 hours so the battery is dead...

In its manual, it is written that the player support WAV STEREO file-type. But, it is not explicitly said that the player will not work w/ WAV MONO. Since I am a hearing-impaired and like my music mono, could anyone please help me confirming that wav mono can be played or not? I am considering to buy this player, but because of its premium price I need to make sure that the player will meet my need before buying it. Thank you very much

Hi Sue4,

the Tera-Player does support 2-channel wav files only, one channel for the left ear, the other channel for the right ear.

If both channels contain the same signal, then it will be of course mono.

You can jump into Analog Head shop in Jakarta and try the Tera with your wav files:

Ruko Sudirman Park Blok B No.8 (Sebelah Bank BCA)
Jl. KH Mas Mansyur Kav.35
Jakarta 10220, Indonesia

Charles :)

Thank you, Charles! Maybe someday I could go there and test by myself, but I wish someone could do the favor. Ripping cd to mono wav will result in single channel wav (can tell from the half bitrate), will Tera be able to play such wav then? Anyway, how to make dual mono wav? Thank you

PM about to be sent. I'll help you test this.

No, mono files don't play as I found out a couple of days ago.

As to software you could use Audacity but you'd have to do each file individually.  What operating system are you using?

You should be able to batch convert to mono and then batch convert the mono files to stereo agin which would actually be 'dual mono'.

That's actually sort-of genius.......If you have a mac and set XLD to look at a folder with all your music in it......It would convert the hell out of those files. And you could set it to delete the old ones......

I just put Wavelab in my home pc to check visually. Works a charm.

I'd keep the originals. I would make a duplicate library and then convert to replace the dup. This way you have both and also maintained your original file, folders structure etc. It only takes some time but it takes almost no effort.

I understand. I would do the same, just didnt feel it was necessary to write all that out. It's up to him to decide if he needs the original files or not. Glad you figured out a solution that's not completely ridiculous though. Now it's just two batch conversions away. Much more realistic for use as an everyday player type deal.

Thank you all for all of your suggestions. I perceive them as audiophile peer-support for the handicaped ones, whom I am counted. Wishing the same from hardware makers n programmers. As a single-hearing person, I do indulge the healthy n fully functional ear w/ high quality sound
