Here is a custom built 240 volt Class A CMOY amp with jrc4556 op amp and housed in an aluminium hammond case. I bought the amp from Head Fier Fred Fred 2004. I have bought several of Fred Fred 2004s designs and this is the best of them IMHO. It gave my Matrix m stage a good run for its money and in some ways bettered it in sheer linear neutrality. plenty of power to drive my HD650s and probably anything up to 600ohms.

 

This is a great amp and i am only selling it due to my upgrade to a Violectric V100.

yes i have owned 5 amps in total from Fred_Fred 2004. a RA1 clone 18v rechargeable in a hammond case, an ultimate cmoy portable which i still own, a 3 channel cmoy 24volt which i have sold, and an altoids RA1 18v tin amp which i also have moved on. All his amps are very high quality for a DIY operation and punch well above their weight. This amp is the best amp of his that i have owned. as i said in the add - it was very close to the matrix m stage in sound quality and probably the most neutral amp i have heard. very smooth with quick transients. it is a cmoy on steroids! plenty of power for anything up to 600ohms - my HD650s barely raised the volume control above 11 o'clock.

Bump and final price drop. Come on people this is a bargain. I paid double this price for it - you won't hear a better cmoy and at this price if your considering an Altoids tin amp but are desk bound this amp should be at the top of your list.

Yeah it sold a while back. Check out Fred Fred 2204s amps on ebay he has some great new designs including a valve driven cmoy that I have been tempted in trying.

I bought a tube cmoy from him and it's had a few problems. He hasn't really replied to my messages about it. I guess I can just reach out on the DIY section about fixing it.
