I think this is the same guy who sold me some brand new Grado RS-1 that never came. He also lived in Colorado and had a Creek OB-11. Luckily, I had his phone number and I was able to call and find out why they never came. While talking to him it almost sounded like he was trying to weasel out of giving my money by talking about how his eBay and PayPal accounts had been hacked.

Here is the guy that I dealt with on eBay.

Goto eBay and put this number in the search box:

Ask the guy if he has an eBay account so that you can feel more secure about the transaction. If he is nate_44 on eBay, then beware!

Try it now. I fixed it.

If you look at the items in his feedback, the others were not as lucky as me since they may have lost thousands of dollars.

Avoid the sale. He's a scammer.

He sent me the following email.

Hello Fred,

Sorry I could not reply to you via my dude@mail2nathan.com email address, it's clogged and i have to clean it up before I can send mail again. Please be advised that the Grados are not in Mint condition, but Very Great condition. There are no flaws on the wood or elsewhere, however, they could use new ear pieces as they are about two years old. Please let me know if you're still interested. Thank you

Can this seller be reported to Audiogon? Not sure how to go about that process there but others should be warned.

I guess someone could start an "eBay and Audiogon scammers" feedback in the feedback forum section but I doubt that anyone would check there before they bought from him. So it probably would be a waste of time.

I already got scammed once this month (Atlantis Speaker Stands) Thanks for saving me a second bad expereince. Its too bad people suck! For once I was the first response on an amazing deal.

Oh well.

Nice catch! The scammer list sounds like a good idea; I don't think any Head-fi regulars would misuse it since our regular feedback works well.

i tried searching on ebay for that number, but it didn't find a matching one.

....so, for sure this audiogon guy is the same as the one on ebay?--gopher, you messaged him via ebay and got a reponse about the rs-1's?

I was scammed for over $200 bones back in December on an Ebay auction. Was beyond suprised that PayPal made good on the deal and refunded my money. From all the bad things I have heard about PayPal, they did right by me.

As for a "Scammers List" I think this would be a good idea. I also use the Ebay Feeback as a source for references. I than ask the seller to send me an email from the account listed in Ebay. Not full proof but better than nothing.
