Likewise, there's a Champagne Gold version of the New Studios to complement your Champagne Gold iPhone 5S. Looks very nice!

Who, damn. I'd kill for one of those.

I'll buy a pair of Beats when they start making them out of wood or metal :gs1000smile:

Everything aside, I really dislike them. Don't know what it is.

Um hello??

Surely you must have a reason to dislike them, no?

If I use my iPhone 5S gold without a case, then it looks like a good match yes. But I won't use my iPhone 5S gold without a case :P

I like Spigen cases, but I go naked just to get a fast access to use my Olloclip.

That's understandable.

Oh, sorry - my misunderstanding - I thought you were referring to the Detox Pro being sold on Amazon for $200, as that's what your original post seemed to be referring to.

But the solo2's sold on Amazon for $200 makes sense smily_headphones1.gif

If they do sound like mini-Studio 2.0s, I'm probably gonna want to get them as a portable can (the Mixrs are still enticing though).

Oh yeah, speaking of the Solos, I managed to have a comparison between the monochromatic Solos and the old Solos (all of them are the HDs, of course). Safe to say, the old Solos sounded like garbage. The monochromatic ones actually sounded decent when I blind-tested them (by that I mean blind to the price), but the Mixrs still sound better and feel a lot more durable.

Absolutely, the monochromatic solo's have a good sound but the rub is that they still feel fragile, especially when compared to the bullet proof build of the mixr's - but providing you aren't heavy handed - the monochromatic's light weight makes them perfect mobile on the go cans.

By the look of the new solo2's going for the mini new Studio look - they certainly look more robust in build than the solo HD monochromatic's for sure - I really dig the mini studio look - hi-gloss is very nice but a finger print magnet - here's hoping they release a matt colour range - which I have no doubt they will - then what? Probably a solo2 wireless?

So, have the newer Beats headphones gotten much better? The last time I listened to them at a Best Buy about a year ago, they all sounded horrible.

I think people who want a good bass response headphone, without the ugly muddled loose bass from the Beats series should try the Sony MDR-XB500, selling for $150 at Amazon. The bass on these kill the bass on Beats headphones. Give them a listen. And they don't come with horribly recessed mids and highs, unlike the Beats series.

The bass on these hit really hard and deep and are nice and controlled.

Edit: durr, nevermind. The batteries in certain Beats headphones are for noise cancelling, correct?

I can tell you now that your beats bias will not allow you to hear anything else but what you want to - and you want to hate on beats - this is your reality - sorry but you have pretty much proven this, well to me anyhow, by your stating "they all sounded terrible".

Really - ALL OF THEM?rolleyes.gif

GTFOH already!

This is common reverse placebo effect caused by accepting audio snobs constant whipping of the beats brand - you are wasting your time entirely in pursuing any interest in beats products - for the entirety of your life - yes - it's that serious - you have severe audio deficit disorder - and it's almost incurable - god bless you but I honestly don't think you could survive the treatment that may uncoddle the severe damage you have exposed yourself to...

..I'm sorry for your loss, and wish you well wink.gif
