Yep.  That's pretty much it.

Once you subjectively choose a something to value whatever best fits or achieves that value can have objective grounding.

My subjective assessment is that I've truly entered the world of high-end audio by visiting this thread and I should leave immediately. That is one beautiful looking headphone btw. smile.gif

For a second I though this "Maverickronin" to whom  you are referring was a Russian philosopher I have never heard of biggrin.gif

Apparently in Hong Kong it will cost RRP HK$49800 (around US$6420 or £4095)

The reduction in cost from that early price quote I was given is great news.....

I'm I alone in thinking/hoping that the spokes model was going topple over from the weight of the Muramasa's? It looked like she was having somewhat of a struggle with those head titles.

People who complain about the price of these headphones must have never heard of The Bugatti Veyron.

It is silly to put a monetary value on artisan products like these because worth, like this very hobby, is highly subjective. Some people are willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars for collectible 'action figures' while others scoff at the idea. The life of your family member may be worth twice any kidnapper's ransom, but the life of a stranger...not so much.

If / when I audition these, the first order of business will be to listen to them out of my Sansa Clip Zip.

You realize that could create a rip in Space/Time right?

So wait....these come with your very own hot Asian girl?  Looks like a bargain!  Why the price reduction, do I need to have her tested?

Lol!

Very interested in what these are about as I have recently become an FAD owner (Heavens) and love what they bring to the table. I know a great many folks thing spending the thick end of $400 on single driver IEM's madness when one can get multi drives at the same price but that assumes the old more is better ethos and in my experience less is more with these phones. If these headphones deliver musical enjoyment like my HeavenS's do then they are worth every penny.

As to value, well, it depends on what is important to you. I know people who think nothing of dropping $1000 on a pair of jeans, I would not do that but if they get enjoyment from it who am I to argue?

We all spend our hard earned the way we want to. If someone wants to drop the thick end of 5K on a set of headphones more power to them. If that is what they like, get satisfaction from and enjoy then they are worth every penny!

Probably not worth going into the possible mechanisms of valuation which might prompt a $6000 artisan/wildcard headphone purchase.

But probably the most valid reason to buy the Marasuma is because you already own everything else and have money to spend on boutique/artisinal audio products.  Most of us aren't quite there yet lol.
